Ever seen or know about this 1 piece adjustable mount?

Came on a used Diana 48. The only markings on it are "Australia" on the insides aspect of the ring bases and "1888C" near one of the recoil arrestor pins. There are 2 recoil arrestor pins. I compared the spacing distance of the pins to current production RWS Lock down mounts and it is identical.

Mount looks very well made, high quality and robust. I was going to sell it along with the "parts scope" (Blue Ribbon 66RL that has a loose ocular eye piece) but I'll hold on to the mount and use it soon😉

If anybody has any info to put this puzzle together (who made it, when, for what rifles, etc), please chime in.

I've got one just like it on my Diana 36, it's an RWS fully adjustable mount sold by Dynamit Nobel and all steel, I like it actually.

mag13, that's excellent information. Thank you!

The machining quality and tolerances are impressive. The design is pretty cool, too. I like how the main base platform was machined from one solid piece of steel. Just an awesome 'piece of airgunning gear' to own and use.

I took it apart and gave it a good inspection: everything is very tight, intact, and... 😉 yes, just as you said it is 100% steel. I thought that maybe the actual rings were aluminium but they too stuck to the 🧲

Below are pics of the components enjoying a much needed spa treatment LOL, tomorrow the pampering continues before being put through a solid stress test!

Mine went through the same spa treatment as yours not too long ago and yes the tolerance/fit is tight, but that's what makes it stay put when screws are tightened. I actually had bought this mount back in the late 90's, so pretty sure that it's not manufactured anymore...shame though. I searched a couple years ago to see if any could be found but no luck, did not do a deep search though. I was looking to see if I could find one in 30mm ring size😕, bought the Sportsmatch 1pc fully adjustable which is indeed a nice mount. 👍

Cheers

I just started a thread on this mount. How hard is it to make adjustments and does it hold adjustments? It is a high mount as listed. Maybe you could take some measurements of it or post pictures of it on the rifle you mounted it on ?
