Evanix rex barrel bushing

I’m trying to find a way to make the decorative shroud on my evanix Rex into a functional one. This would require a vented front barrel bushing, and I am hoping to remove and either drill or replace it.

Has anyone here had success removing the barrel bushing from the end of the Rex barrel? It appears not to be threaded on there and I’m guessing it is glued on but I’m not really sure. I’m hoping for some way to remove it without damaging either the bushing or the barrel.

Is a press fit,...put a little block of wood against it and give it a few taps.

First I useded a heat gun and knocked it right off with a mallet. Didn't plan to use it again but did.
