You might also consider going to pellets that dump more energy, like Crow Magnums. (not sure they're made in .25?)

Good thought Smaug, thanks! I have been shooting the standard JSB 25.4's with very good results but I see what you are saying about the CM's.

I've read that lightweight wadcutter pellets are effective for close-in pesting with minimal collateral damage. Can't vouch for that myself.
