Any thoughts out there as to why my Epoch leaks from regulator when trying to fill? I’ve had a call into Skout Tech Support for days but nothing yet.
Same experience here when I had my epoch. Generally always got an answer on the phone. I luckily never experienced functional problems with my epoch , however I’ve read about the problem you are having numerous times so I’m sure they are aware and will be able to help you.that's the only kind of service I've ever got from Skout right there. Impeccable
Thanks for your input, I've removed and checked both HP and LP regs and o-rings are fine. Can't check set pressures because I can't get enough air into the gun for gauges to move. Tried dry fire to no avail. Guess I need to wait for Skout to respond. Is the fill pressure less than your HPR setting?
Possible you need to take a dry fire when the leak starts to seal the valve
or you might have a damaged oring in the regulator
Thanks, I will try thatis the air coming out the HPR reg hole?
If Yes, take out the reg and wipe down the inside of the housing of the reg.
if it is dirty, or has too much lube in there, it might cause the orings to slip
My friend Augie helped me out with this one
Or, you can put your adult pants on and call them like they said....Thanks, not a glowing review of Skout Tech Support. I may just order the new and improved reg
They responded to the tag in my post in a whopping, astronomical, unbelievable and unacceptable 2min. Put some effort in. If they don't answer, maybe try calling 15min later. During operating hours. I've spoke with Keith and Luke multiple times. People complain about bad customer service and I hate it as much as anyone, but Skout is the absolute opposite of that.. If you aren't happy with you're rifle, they take it personally. I don't know what else you could ask for. Thanks, not a glowing review of Skout Tech Support. I may just order the new and improved reg
You mean 250 bar? The regulator is built to bleed off air, when you stop shooting the the bottle should be shut off to prevent air loss.I had the same problem gun wouldn't fill losing to much air through high pressure reg , I took the reg apart couldnt see any problems still leaked , so I got In touch with skout I spoke to a guy named Keith he was very helpful any way long story short I sent the gun back to Skout after a couple of weeks I got the gun back supposedly fixed nope still leaked sent It back a second time by this time they had replaced the H reg spoke to Keith he said he left It for a couple of days and the reg pressure was stable , got the gun back It still leaks but not as bad as before If I fill It up to 250 psi and leave It for a few days the gun Is empty . At least now I can fill the gun with air I guess that's a plus ....But I have to say Skout were very helpful even If they didnt fix the gun .
Yeah sorry bar.....I installed the new air valve cus the old one leaked , If I turn the valve of It drains all the air from the bottle so I just leave It open .You mean 250 bar? The regulator is built to bleed off air, when you stop shooting the the bottle should be shut off to prevent air loss.
If it's leaking when shut off at the bottle it should just be an oring, I've replaced mine a couple time on the old style shutoff, I threaded in a tiny metric screw into the valve for leverage to turn on/off. I was told the old style valve was only replaced because orings were being blown out from turning it on to quick. A tiny fraction of an oring can only take so much pressure, 4k takes a piece out quick. Slow and easy has been working.Yeah sorry bar.....I installed the new air valve cus the old one leaked , If I turn the valve of It drains all the air from the bottle so I just leave It open .
