Entry into Strelok Pro for .22 Taipan Veteran Long

Thanks -- yes I thought about that too (LW v CZ barrel) after I posted. It's marked "CZ" in big bold letters where the barrel connects to the breach. Am I to assume CZ barrel? I looked in the owners manual that comes with the gun but thats pretty sparse . . . I may try searching the mfg / LW / CZ websites to see if I can find anything.

Barrel twist rate. Anyone know what it is? Also R or L handed if that really matters. ( it's an actual question that the app asks . . . )

Thanks

Hello

Twist rate refers to the rate of spin in the rifle barrel, and is represented in inches per turn. It's important that your barrel has an adequate twist rate to stabilize the bullets you're shooting. A barrel that is a 1:10” twist means that the rifling will spin the bullet one revolution in 10 inches.

left or right doesn’t really matter on Airguns, but i think it’s R.

hope It helped u.

regards Patrick

I believe earlier Taipan used to rely on CZ barrels. But last year when I visited them and saw it assembled first hand, they were using LW barrels. I believe as you mentioned, barrels may be marked accordingly.

@Savaj - thanks man. Yeah - I thought about asking you directly as I'd seen your video and know that you had "the insiders view" but didn't know if you noticed that or not. ( apparently you did. ;-) ) So . . . . it has the CZ label on it - we're going to run with that and assume CZ barrel then? I have pictures of it posted in another thread here where you can clearly see the "CZ" marking.

I just texted Tony @Talon Tunes where I got it from asking him if maybe he knows.

Jdanvers, are you talking about this marking?

I believe this marking is standard across the board. I even saw it on the rifle that I was shooting. Let me double check though.

;-) @Patrick -- lol -- yes thanks. ( guess I should have phrased my question a bit better ) I know what twist rate is - just wondering what this particular barrel's is. ;-) My other two guns - one an Air Arms (.22) and the other a Marauder (.177) - both with LW barrels are 1:16's - or so I've been told via forum members.

Ok sry for that, I’ve wondered about that question from u. 😂

im no native English speaker, maybe that’s the reason I thought that.😂

Mina taipan veterano corto. 25 también tiene grabado Cz pero tiene lw barril. Creo que Cz significa República Checa, donde se hacen.

Checked my photos and its confirmed that CZ marking is present on even those with LW barrels. Definitely stands for the Czech Republic.

Hi savaj

ZC= Česká zbrojovka

CZE= Czech Republic

All the Eastern European brands that use CZ barrells also mount LW, which is why years ago they used CZ in 17 22 and LW 25. In short barrels, CZs are more precise. It's just my opinion based on my airguns

@Savag - yes.

@Bledja - that's likely it as I had heard that they (Taipan) had switched to LW's.

... whatever it is - the thing is proving to be a laser! :)

It is a laser for sure. I wish I had a chance to shoot it at 100+ yards. It's a pity I can't get it in India.

Can you not import one with a rifle club membership? The power can be lowered quite a bit in a Veteran, this will ensure it clears inspection.

Hi Enkey,

That's an interesting bit of information. Thank you for sharing it.
