ELR optics

Just for my own knowledge I'm curious as to what people are scoping their ELR rigs with.

In particular how you pair your gun & scope and what power(s) do you utilize for shooting beyond 'normal' distances?

I like can-do-it-all pieces of equipment —
so I like that the scopes I shoot ELR with also work for other shooting scenarios.

For that reason, I don't only want a high top end magnification for ELR —
but a wide FoV (field of view) a the bottom magnification.

So, I'm attracted to the following magnification ranges:
4-24x
4-32x
3-21x
5-30x


The other specs are pretty standard, pretty much all my scopes should have these:
▪10y min. parallax
▪exposed turrets
▪holdoff reticle
▪80moa elevation adjustment (min.)
▪nice glass, but that's pretty subjective....


After doing some extensive searching, I have found quite a few that fit that bill.

So far, I have a 4-32x and a 5-30x.

I take shots that long or longer sometimes with an element helix with all the zoom or a dnt zulus range finding digital optic. Both do 20x or better. My powder burner varmint guns all use similar zoom specs too same critters as the airguns but farther out as well.

Thnx for the insight Matthias

My takeaway from reading what I can find is that there are no hard & fast determinates for choosing& it's mostly down to personal preference. Is this correct IYE?

My experience w optics has been limited mostly to low power scopes (3X). But w the increasing potential of LD airgun shooting I think it's time to move on to something bigger & better. Shooting for me consists mostly of supported non-bench positions, so I think that I can get away w a bigger tube

I have a 4-12 on my M24 & feel as though I won't be able to get the most out of it so have a 6-24 to try out. Depending on how that goes & being compulsive I have a cheap 10-40 on the way

I've used it on all my 50+ fpe slug dedicated airguns. Now resides on my Skout EVO, but mostly because the IQ is so nice.
March Genesis 4-40x52.
86 mils of elevation travel because it uses a external adjustment system. Gets you waaaaaay out there!
