Anyone know if the 10X 40 or 14X 50will be GTG at 100 for pellet holes?

I may need more.. Just curious what people with somewhat good eyes think that have one of these two scopes?

I have the 14 and it's only used for hunting but pellets holes at 100 I would say nope. Great field of view but seeing pellet holes consistently on paper I wouldn't want to.

But I'm the guy using 50 power at 100yds for f class 22lr so there's that. I will say for hunting nothing better I've found for me

I have 3 14x and I use the splatter targets at 100 yards and they’re easy to see. White paper with red lines - not with my old eyes! Squirrels at 100 yards…yep.

10x40 here with DMV-good eyesight. I can't see .177 holes at 45 yards unless the light is just right. Splatter targets yes.

I have a IO 14x50 and the 5x30-pro. I am not considering these as a paper target punching scopes.

For target shooting 50 meter rings I am using x32 power and up, for 100 M x50 power. Same x50 on my W308 up to 500 M.

As a benchrest shooter, I’ll echo Dragout - 14x is borderline for paper. For pellet rifles, consider a 20-30x optic (like Athlon Argos BTR) if groups matter more than field use. The Immersive excels in mobility, not target inspection.

Can you specify the caliber of pellet?
A .22 pellet at 100 yards with a 14x scope ....I doubt you will see the holes on paper. Even at 40x or 50x, you will need above avg glass on the scope.
A .30 cal is easier to spot, but you may have difficulties spotting a hit in a shaded piece of paper at that magnification.

With the splatter recommendation for 75-100 yards hole visibility.

In the field, nothing I have seen is even close for scouting and target acquisition, just skip the binoculars. Especially good on bullpup configurations.
