Effective range for 25 cal Taipan Veteran Compact

Hi everyone:

Just curious what do you estimate the effective range of my .25 cal Taipan Vet Compact is in the field?

In a couple weeks my 25 cal Taipan Vet Compact shall finally see some action on some starlings.

On YouTube channel Air Rifle Activities the YouTuber take 80 yard shots with a Leyla 2.0 in 25 cal, so I assume Taipan Compact can do similar if I do my part.

Furthest I tested moa is at 50 yards and did good with the compact .25

I have got a pigeon at 75 yards didnt seem an issue I usually shoot on sticks or free hand . Free hand is a little harder for me for consitancy but I'm improving .

Effective range is highly based on the shooters ability in the field. In good conditions and you doing your part I would think starlings would be in danger out to 100 yards.

Hi 

Mine likes hades more then 25 gr jsb.But only to about 70-80y.then accuracy goes away fast.At 60y i get 1/2 inch 5 shoot groups.

@L.Leon, I know that I will need a little practice once I am there but the nice thing is I basically have no limits where I can shoot the Leshiy 2 or Taipan (except in town - Pocatello doesn’t allow it

@blejada I am planning on taking a tin of 25 King Heavy and Hades, so I should be good. It will be good to stretch the Taipan’s legs along with the Leshiy 2.

I think the Leshly will keep up with the Veteran, 100 yards with my V 25 shorty , If I am on a tripod or bags, Dam hard for me off hand,,

Effective range highly depends on the shooter. Where do you feel comfortable shooting to? With my .22 rifles I’m comfortable shooting out to around 125yrds. I took a sparrow the other day with my Origin at 107yrds. With my .25 Flex or Sumatra on pest birds I’m comfortable out 150 & farther.

With no wind and good hold-over data, it depends on target size, a good rangefinder, and shooting ability. Definitely to 125 if everything’s perfect with the 25gr or to 150ish with 34gr. 100-125 with a Vet STD and 34gr on CA ground squirrel pretty routine.
