Eenie?Meenie?Mini?Mrod

Or Prod?

Or Disco?

Or 22XX?

The point is... I wanna build a bottled backpacker and I could use yall's experiences before buying a bunch of parts.

Crossman mods are like lego guns but what parts fit on what?

Im thinkin' .177 or .22 slug barrel. Short tube with ballanced valve. Side lever mag breach. Regulated drop block. Carbon bottle. AR grip. Folding stock. That list will grow I'm sure but you get the point.

Ive checked out a ton of links but I have not owned a benji anything yet so I'm hoping for some suggestions, links, pics, whatever you think I need to know or buy or modify. I have my own daydream plan but I want to hear from you

Thanks

A "backpacker" , with a drop block+bottle+large air tube -looking for power right?-. it wont be the smallest but you know that.

A 1701P would put you 80-90% of where you want to be wouldnt it? Not the high shot count but everything else already done, well mod the valve.

Personally I would skip the 22xx/disco set up, there just not as strong with the 2 little screws on the breech.

If you shop well a drop down is $17.00.

Cothran makes the good valve, also makes the high psi SS tubing you'll be wanting.

I've used a 40fpe 22xx . Air CONSUMPTION! Muzzle FLIP! A ton of internal movement. Fun and pretty near the max for a 22xx with a 14" barrel. Tuned down to about 28fpe it was easy to handle. Just how much pwoer are you looking for?

Yes I know it won't be small like a pistol. I figure around 20" (give or take) folded would fit in my tactical man purse lol with a moderator in my pocket. That should allow for about 16" of barrel plus air stripper on one end and breech and folding stock adapter at the grip. I don't need tons of power but I do like to reach out past 50 at least.

So I guess the question is... beef u a prod or chop down a mrod?

I think the B-rod with a modular chassis would be pretty much a Wicked so thats why I mentioned 22XX and disco.

So can a Prod shoot past 50 yards with the right barrel and mods?

Why do you need a balanced valve for a .177 or .22? Properly done...they are absolutely not recommended IMO. The rest of your plans are sound for the most part...but when you consider the costs of your build, you're looking at the price of an FX impact or of the like...unless you're fabricating most the parts yourself, from the valve, to the folding stock, to the drop down adapter...those 3 almost cost as much as the rifle itself.

You would need to go down towards 15" of barrel to keep the package @ 20" when folded for a marauder. I have a stock marauder that breaks down to 24" that fits in a backpack that I have, I spent around 1k~ building it to what it is.

For the cost you'd put into this build, I'd highly consider an Edgun Leishiy or Impact...heck if you're willing to dump 1k into a 400-500$ crossman, why not dump the same 1k into a dreamline. Folding stock bottled and shortened dreamlinee..JMO
