Editing question (& shameless self promotion)

I use a Tactacam 5.0 with FTS for recording some hunts. The only thing I use for editing is my PC with Windows 10 & the included video editor. You can view my videos on GerryReba on YouTube (there's the self promotion! ). The only reason I've posted them there is if I want to share on this forum it's easy to just copy the link onto my post. I'm not TOTALLY technically challenged but I'm also NOT a technophile. Anyone else using their PC for editing & know of a decent FREE editing program or app. I'm more interested in my camera & videos to be a diagnostic tool & not trying to make "production quality" clips but I figured there MUST be something out there that's easier to use than what I've been working with. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I also have a Tactacam and currently use the free version of Davinci Resolve for editing. It can be used it for just simple editing, but overall it is a very complex program and is much more than you'll likely ever need. I'd advise doing a Google search for free video editors and you'll have numerous options. I'll subscribe as soon as I'm done on this post. Now here's my shameless plug...

I too use Davinci Resolve. I really can't understand how the free version is actually free - it is that good of a program to me.

Almost any video editing tool(set) will seem to be quite complicated at first. The key is just to push through using it a few times, looking at tutorial videos when needed, and just get the program muscle memory ingrained. Just like shooting, the more you do it the better you get. And with Resolve as you get better you won't outrun the program - it will continue to support your needs if/when what you are trying to achieve gets more complex.

And Da Vinci works on PC's? A lot of programs I've seen were for Android or Apple systems. Aside from my PC my other devices are too difficult (& archaic) to work with.
I'm using it on a Windows 11 PC. As long as you are just using the edit window it isn't too difficult to learn. There are plenty of videos available on YouTube to help you get started.

Gerry, I use the Tactacam also. I always try to shoot at 240 frames per sec so I can get good slow motion. I would rather use my movie camera mounted on top of my scope as I don't like the reticle to get in the way of the pellet flight but some technical issues have been cropping up. I'll figure it out. I use Movie Maker on an older Windows laptop that works good.

I may try the Tactacam 6.0 I have tried the side mounted camera and it did not work I could never get the picture in the scope, I was told I needed to shim the camera with small shims, I tried that and gave up,,
I just want to film some expolding sparrow to get some friends and a few brother into the sport,,, I want something easy, No rocket science stuff for me.
