I have owned all three. Taipan vet is the quietest, but not by a lot. Taipan is least expensive new by 3-5 hundred , only 2-4 hundred if laminated stock. I find the taipan the easiest to work. But that’s me.

I own both in standard.I would give them both high marks in everything but reliability. I would give the veteran a big thumbs up in .25 and the r5m in .25 not so much. Right now mine doesn't feed so well. I hear the 10 shot magazine calibers have no issue whatsoever. My .25 with the 9 shot mag has issues with the magazine indexing for the next shot. I hope to get to the bottom of this. Until then I would go veteran every time.

Mine had the same indexing issue
I had to pull fast and hard to rotate 100%
I took of the plate and put a steel shim between the oring and the plate with a little grease, solve it
How hard is that .30 to cock? Does the rear cocking lever bother you?
