EDgun Mini Chronograph (Facepalm!)

LOL, I'm sure that there's still some people out there that have these. If so, I just realized recently that these chronos CAN in fact show the velocity for shots exceeding 999FPS (contrary to the stated specs / documentation)!

Example:

Standard reading:

697DAFAE-83C2-4D2F-803A-100E8ECB828A.1639507867.jpeg

1031FPS:

85E2B048-3542-477A-B6C6-47BBDD8262DA.1639507869.jpeg

1277 FPS:

If you're still not seeing it, they're programmed to use letters from English alphabet (hex) in place of the first digit to represent the first two digits of the velocity in thousands (A = 10, b = 11, and so forth).

These little optical chronos are actually very precise! It's usually bang on or +/-2-3FPS with my Lab Radar. The ability to chrono >999 really makes this thing invaluable now!

They’re most likely running hexadecimal values for the first digit. Try to get it up to F99

Yep, that's exactly what ran through my mind LOL

Thanks for the tip. Not sure I'll need that speed but have one I use I leave on the east coast! Then I'll know I've tuned it higher than expected

Yeah, it's probably not as useful for the Leshiy. I made that 1/2-20 threaded adapter so I could use it with other airguns though! It's been an indispensable item for my range bag for situations where it's not convenient to bring : setup the LabRadar (hunting, NRL22).

Nice. At least you figured it out. Happy shooting.

Thanks 😎👍
