Edgun Matador R5M Eye Candy - pics inside

I just received the R5M .25 from Brian @ EdgunWest and the gun is superb in both looks and accuracy.

Gun is topped off with Vortex rings and the new Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50 FFP scope.

It's dialed in at 900 fps using 25.4g pellets and right now easily putting up sub half inch groups at 60 yards, which is as far as I can shoot in my back yard.

How do you like the bolt placement?

Bolt placement on the R5 is no problem for me. The forward cocking bolt on the R5M is an improvement for sure for follow up shots.

Vortex is a better scope. It's my first FFP scope, and my first scope with that kind of zoom. I mostly hunt with my rifles so a 10x power scope is plenty for what I need, but the 24x is legit for long range precision shooting. The best part about that Vortex scope is that even at 24x, it's very clear and with no distortion. For $255 from OpticsPlanet this week, it's a steal.

Is it backyard friendly. No one has reviewed the noise level of the R5M.

The R5M standard in .25 is back yard friendly. There is a noticeable ping from the hammer near your ear that is not heard away from the gun. The slower the velocity the lower the sound report. The included moderator is excellent for the gun.
