Edgun Matador R5M .25

I don't own an Edgun but after I saw a video where Ed is running over one with is pickup truck and they shoot it without loosing accuracy I'm sold, that's impressive for sure!

I would like better reloading, hi-cap magazine and better trigger. But some guys don't shoot guns, they ruunig over them :) Just joking.

I'm not sure why high capacity mags are necessary? 10 shot mags in .22 and 9 in .25 and magazines are $30 a piece vs $80 and have a place to store 3 extra mags under the rail. The cocking and loading is super smooth on mine and after adjusting my trigger it's a nice light crisp 2 stage trigger that I couldn't ask for anything better. But again we're all not the same.

senglish011,

I think the only problem you have is which R5M to get. The Standard or the Long. I have the Standard in .25cal which I got last month. The R5M was my first bullpup so I wanted something short and maneuverable. Right now, I have it set up for the 25.39gr JSBs' shooting at 895 fps average.

I only have about 20 yards to shoot from at home and I only took her out once to stretch her legs but it was a bad day (15-25 mph winds) as far as weather was concerned. I've been doing a lot of chrony work between the JSB 25.39gr and 33.95gr MKI and MKII.

I was able to get the 34gr JSBs' up to 838-840 fps with just Hammer Spring Tension adjustments and no regulator work. From a 230 BAR fill, I was getting about 30 shots at that speed. Ideally, I want to shoot the 34gr JSBs' at 880-910 fps but I might have to increase regulator pressure and fine tune the HST.

I know this gun has a lot of potential. I want to try messing with the factory Edgun regulator to increase the speed and shot count with the 34gr. If not, I may have to spring for a Huma regulator and see how that works out.

I'm also thinking of getting the R5M Long to primarily shoot the 34gr JSBs' to include slugs and keep my R5M Standard to shoot the JSB 25gr and Predator Polymags. I was thinking of getting another brand bullpup platform but these Edguns make my cheeks hurt from the ear to ear smile it puts on my face.

Here's a 5 shot group I did at 50 yards shooting JSB MKII 33.95gr at 838 fps straight out of the tin. That's my pinky which would easily cover that group. Actually, my pinky nail could cover that group.

😁

Nice shooting. I have played with many tunes with all my EDguns and I have settled at 850-855 fps with the 34s as ideal from std or long.

I like the Lelya at 770 with the 34s. At this tune it will also shoot the 25.5s at 882. Both pellets fly very well but I prefer the 34s. They do deliver better groups beyond 80 yards.
