EDgun Matador R5 Squirrel Acrobatics

Another morning, another nutter raiding the bird feeder. It's amazing how much these guys can eat. I'm refilling the bird feeder about once per day!
Needless to say, I opened up the garage and peeked out and sure enough a squirrel was going to town on the bird food. I went back inside and got the Matador, grabbed a pellet and loaded one in the chamber. Got the scope cam set up and stepped outside and crept to within 30 yards, using my wife's car parked outside as cover. I peeked over the car and saw the squirrel unfazed to my approach. I lined up the shot and the rest of the action is below.

Super thrilled to see this much power delivery out of an air rifle that's as quiet as it is. The sound of the pellet smacking the target is so satisfying.

By the way, this video was edited directly on my iPhone with a free app called Spice by GoPro.

Oh yes, let me tell you with ground squirrel, you will probably see brain matter mixed in with the fur and blood... I know this from experience with my .30 Bobcat shooting 44.75 grain JSB Exacts at 890 fps, and the Polymags at 875 fps. One thing about the Polymags is past 65 to 70 yards they start to open up groups, and become unstable... But inside 70 yards they are BRUTAL, especially in .30 caliber!

Ha, was just pondering today whether to set my .30 RAW up with polymags for an upcoming squirrel tournament. My Cricket .25 is brutal at 44 fpe with pmags, I can hardly imagine what the .30 LRT will do!

BIG fan of polymags for hunting under 60 yards. Up to 40 yards, they group like JSB’s in my .25 cal.

Hey Brian, I have a Cricket in .25 caliber but never tried the polymags, which I have lying around somewhere. Any issues fitting the polymags in the Cricket magazine?
