??Edgun Leshiy Super Long Barrel 450mm & DonnyFL Mod Adapter??

So I know I may get some negative feedback on this as this goes slightly against what the Edgun Leshiy is designed around but has anyone thought of a longer barrel than the 350mm (14") Barrel for the Leshiy? My Leshiy will get here tomorrow and I already have a long list of things I want to get for it and this is on my radar if I can find someone to make it. So in my reading and research of the Leshiy the 350mm barrel extension kit will make the gun around 18" folded overall. If a guy were to have a 450mm barrel for this and utilize the adapter Donny makes for the Leshiy to fit one of his Moderators on you could still have an extremely compact gun when folded and then unfold, screw on mod and shoot quiet. I am just interested in the accuracy and shot count that this barrel could provide. I know the other two barrel lengths are crazy accurate and with the right tune can give great shot count but I am just interested in doing something wild as I have seen others do with the Leshiy and have my own personal touch on it. Any help in the right direction to get one of these barrels made would be much appreciated. Also any feedback from other Leshiy owners or those who have the dream please chime in and let me know your thoughts, if anyone else dares to be wild I'm sure we could get a discount getting multiple barrels made.

Matt,

Lengthening the barrel has no bearing on accuracy and that's assuming that you can source a barrel as good as what Ed put's on his guns. My Leshiy with a 250mm barrel has proven it's easily capable of less than 1/2" groups at 50yds and that's with a scope that only goes to 8X and has a large reticle. A longer barrel will allow higher velocities and/or the ability to tune efficiency that much easier. Look at the success that Tim has had with his project and keep in mind the core value of the Leshiy design, small powerful and accurate. You can make it into anything you want, but remember to appreciate the gun for what it is. It's easy to modify the heck out of it, but it's hard to keep from trying to make it do things that another design already covers. My Lelya is shorter than my Leshiy unfolded, it also makes more power, has a magazine, higher shot count,etc... However, it doesn't fold, weighs a lot more, and would not discreetly disappear as easily as the Leshiy.

Do not take my comments as criticism to customize your Leshiy. Have fun with it! I would recommend shooting the heck out of it, just the way it is before you start swapping parts around, you might decide that the Gucci mod that everybody else is doing won't fit your needs.

Welcome to being a Leshiy owner.

So got my leshiy yesterday and haven’t tinkered with it a ton. Just turned the power down a little from original as it seemed like it was a little much for the backyard fun I was having yesterday with it. Today got the chrony out and turned it back up a little as I planned to squirrel hunt with it today. Left original regulator in the gun for now although I have the Huma ready to put in anytime. Tuned shooting Crosman 14.3 HP at 850 FPS average for 25 shots from about 280 bar down to 100 bar before falling to 830fps at 97bar then 817fps at 88bar I believe is what it was. Just shooting these Crosman to plink with but once it was tuned I took I hunting with them. Didn’t see any squirrels so no luck there but still had fun shooting it today. At 20 yards I was putting 5 rounds in the same hole. Over the 25 rounds I shot over the chrony all were within a 3/4” circle other than one flyer I pulled off on. Crazy accurate gun so far and I can’t wait to get some mods. Below is for sure my list of mods that I want ASAP before I mess with this longer barrel deal I am wanting to try out.

Definetly get the trigger mod. That trigger is all or nothing and I’m used to shooting my impact that has a super crisp trigger.

For sure will be getting the extended tube like the one on “Silent Overkill”. 25 shots was great but I know once I go to 18grain jsb pellets and wanting to shoot them at 850+ I can kiss that number goodbye. Or when i get the .25 caliber barrel for it.

I think it’s safe to say I will end up owning all 350mm barrels in .177, .22, .25 and I will more than likely go ahead and get the standard .25 cal barrel as well. Maybe even splurge for the .177 just so I have a complete set.

Back to the longer barrel. As Mark said this gun is meant to fit a niche and it does that well and I agree that the longer barrel won’t do a lot for accuracy as this gun is more than accurate enough as it is. I was just thinking outside the box and this gun would still be plenty short with the extension added on to fold up and fit in a pack then when you are “on the hunt” you could slip on a Donnyfl mod and not be too much longer. Maybe even give a little more to hold on to for a steadier grip, that was what I meant on the accuracy side of things. And the thing that most interests me about this is the shot count I know that can be achieved by the longer barrel. As you can see from my above dreams for my leshiy it will be a little bit of time and about another $1,000 well spent before I start on the 18” barrel mod. Haha I appreciate all the feedback and am glad to have joined the leshiy club. I was a little sick after spending the money and waiting on the gun to get here from Brian but after the two days of waiting and then pulling the trigger a few times I am hooked just as much as the first few shots out of my impact. This airgunning has became an expensive yet fun hobby!!!

Mat,

Glad that you have had a chance to try it out stock. Welcome to the world of Leshiy?! All that money you are going to spend is chump change compared to some other hobbies. My daughter and her husband have a Subaru WRX and they are in a local Subie club. Those import people dump ridiculous money on carbon fiber this and that. Good luck on the mods, just make sure your custom barrel starts with a quality blank and that whoever machines it does it right.

Mark,

This gun is freaking awesome. Played more with it today. Still not used to the trigger yet but I cannot believe the power and accuracy. Even with the light 14.3 Crosman HPs I was able to hit the bottom of a 55 gallon drum at about 175 yards over and over again. I know that’s a big target but in about a 5mph crosswind and just resting on a fence while standing this gun impressed me. I actually was shooting over the barrel for the first three shots until I realized I was aiming too high. It made one hell of a thump when hitting it too. I can’t wait to tune it up with the 18gr JSBs.

Tim,

Before I even got the leshiy I had been on your site checking out the different setups people had. I was at a toss up between the leshiy and the fx verminator and your site is one of the reasons I ended up with the leshiy lol. I also follow you on Instagram. Last comment back to you I referenced that I thought this was you commenting on here. I look forward to getting that extended air cylinder for sure. The site it’s on won’t open from my phone so I’m going to have to try tomorrow when I can log in on my computer. I’ll definetely be using your site as a reference for all my leshiy needs. One thing I do wanna know is what the best hard side carry case is for the Leshiy. Mine did not come with one. I thought they did but I guess not..... I want one that will hold the gun with the barrel extension kit on and all the extra barrels etc.

I made Leshiy with such a long barrels for my customers in Japan (they have the restrictions on the length of the gun). To me it is too bulky. I am still use mine as it was designed -- 250 mm barrel, caliber .25, JSB King 1.645 grams, 220 m/sec (720 f/sec). No mods of targets. In fact I found out that when I don't know when it shoot, just pull it, the accuracy is better. But that is for me, shooting off hands.

Btw... for the air cylinder... just email them. They speak English way better than I speak Russian. They will send you a paypal address. You’ll have in less than 2 weeks. I

Ed,

Do you still have any of these long barrels available? I was just wanting something different to try on the leshiy and “make it my own” everyone seems to have their favorite mods and I was thinking it may be neat to have the longer barrel to see what it would do for shot count and more weight on the gun for a better hold when shooting. I have shot my gun more now and as you already know you make one hell of a gun. I cannot believe the accuracy and power this little gun can put out. It is an amazing gun, I do agree on the trigger more now than I would have when I first got the gun. I have started focusing more on my hold and I don’t start to pull the trigger until I am sure I’m on target and my accuracy with the gun has increased significantly. I have tossed it in a pack and every morning when I leave for work it goes with me so I can shoot on the drive home if I have time.

Tim,

I will for sure have to emails those Gentlemen and get the tube extension. As I Stated above to Ed I have taken this gun with me everyday to shoot on the drive home from work and it would be awesome if I had more shots before having to give up and head home. Haha did you see my comment on the hardside carry case that will fit the gun with barrel extension on? I have been looking on amazon but not sure which one would be best. If you have a link for one that would be awesome.

I will get some pictures of my setup posted soon. Thanks for all the support gentlemen and thank you Ed for taking the time to reply to this post.

Yes, both me and Brian in USA has long barrels of all calibers. If Brian has not I can send him, that is no problem. I am going to send him another boxes of Leshiy shortly, ask him to order more barrels if he has not some of them.
