Edgun Leshiy low power question

I have a Gen 2 Leshiy .22 everything is stock. If I turn the HST down to minimum and back out 2 clicks to I’m shooting JSB 15.9g at average of 544 FPS after 12 shoots with high of 548 and low 541 which is giving me around 10.5 FPE. Do I have to adjust the Reg or get the Huma? Will I hurt the gun by only adjusting just the HST to get it down to this low power? It’s using less air and just wanted to keep the power down for pets control.

No it won't hurt the gun because the hammer will be striking the valve with much less force then normal. You don't absolutely need to adjust the reg either but your gun might not be as efficient and consistent than if it was balanced correctly with the hammer spring tension. But, if you're happy with the way it shoots I say go for it, that's all that matters it won't hurt anything. 😉

Everything above is exactly my experience with regulators. The biggest issue I think you would have is if (when) you shoot the gun down below the pressure the reg is set to. IF you do you will notice a rise in the fps. This could affect your POI if you tune too low with the hammer spring. The easy correction for the would be to stop shooting before you reach the set pressure

If you shoot below 12fpe limit I would go for Huma air reg to increase shot count with better consistency and optimized air consumption. I have 12fpe kit shooting .22 jsb jumbo rs with 620fps, short barrel. From 250-70 bar I get 88 shots. Reg set just below 80bar and still I have 3 consistent shots shooting off reg before velocity drops.

Wow! I didn't think the Leshiy could be tuned down so low just with the hammer spring adjustment.

I got the Leshiy from another AGN member here I don’t know what regulator is installed in it 😉

Here is what I got so far with my chrony average from 12 shots.

Leshiy shooting JSB 15.9g

Power setting with just the HST. I have not touch the regulator.

with the HST clockwise all the way in 508 FPS

back out 1 click 520 FPS

back out 2 clicks 544 FPS

“ 3 clicks 571 FPS

“ 4 clicks 601 FPS

“ 5 clicks 629 FPS

“ 6 clicks 653 FPS

“ 7 clicks 682 FPS

“ 8 clicks 708 FPS

“ 9 clicks 751 FPS

“ 10 clicks 782 FPS

“ 11 clicks 803 FPS

my goals were lower the power for short range pets when needed. And increase the power to 10 clicks when needed to longer range. I know the POI will shift when I do that. I’m using a ATN x-sight 5-20 scope so I saved a profile for the “low power” setting with the reticle zeroed at 26 yards (optimum zero range by ChairGun) and have another profile for higher power profile for my 50 yards setting to take care of the POI change. I know I’m wasting more air without the Huma sub 12fpe kit for my “low power” use. Not a problem since I have a scuba compressor with couple of 4500 psi tanks. My only concern was hurting the gun but if the Leshiy is just tapping the hammer with my low power setting and wasting some air I’m ok with that. With the profile setting of the ATN scope that fixed the need of rezero the scope when I change power, I just have to remember to change the profile.
