EDgun Edgun Leshiy 2

20211217_131440.1639776216.jpg

That black backplate is a * headache.

Four days ago I was on short leash with my project but ......I had some surprise nice weather ......... my car was all packed from previous visit, so I quietly escaped to my gun club. - over 250 shots some freehand and mostly dual or quadruple follow up shots within some hour time. Du you know how many times I forgot to cover the mag with that darn thing? Five times...I am surprised the puck is still in a single piece.

Is Leshiy 2 a good choice for a first/only PCP? I’m a casual shooter mostly firearms but have a couple springers that I also very much enjoy. I have not been that interested in PCPs before but the want for Leshiy 2 is strong.

IMO - PCP's are much more fragile than a normal powder burner, and you would be better off playing with an airforce condor or talon first. that would be a good intro into the PCP world, and if you **** something up, it's much less expensive to fix and much less of a headache.

if you are already used to working with high pressure air systems and/or tinkering with your springers, the leshiy 2 is very easy to work on, and would be a fun first PCP.

JETS

wanted to share my experience with jet tuning:

.30 450mm

switching from .3/.3 to .2/.2 provided about 5pe max boost, even bringing the reg up pretty high (190 bar) IMO for .30 cal, you're better off buying a screw that can be used as a plug if you want to get more power out of the 450mm barrel. a 600mm barrel will probably help a LOT more

.177 350mm

my butt for .177 had .3/.3 labeled jets, but not sure if thats what they actually were. i was having difficulty getting it below 950 FPS with 7.9 grain. i swapped in 1.3/1.3, and now shoot around 850 @ 75 bar

I have the Leshiy with the Hornet 50 and wanted to add to the comments from others that if you are right next to the action it seems loud, but I had a friend fire it while I was about 15 feet away and it was much quieter than I thought it was ( being right next to it, firing ).

And now for what may seem like a silly question to those with more experience.. I also have a digital gauge for my plenum, and I seen a few photos here of people with the gauge installed.

The question is, do you leave the gauge installed all the time? or just install it when adjusting the pressure? I have just installed mine to see what the original pressure was, and to add a bit. I than removed the gauge again and went back to the plug.

i do the same as you. when i need to tune/adjust, i throw the gauge on. after i get it where i want, i remove the gauge.

i also use a 350cc bottle, but throw the original tube on when tuning to conserve air

I put a new safety spring #5 in the drawing because the gun was firing in both the safe and fire positions after installing the new spring it still does the same so I adjust the screw behind the trigger and it will not work correctly either it won’t fire or it fires in both safe and fire positions is there something else I can look at

Is the valve pin length normal? If it extrude to far out the 14 Euro BB bal and or its guide has collapsed.

Thought I'd share here too... 70ft/lb in .22 and there's still room to increase.

0.1mm and 0.2mm jets on old forward plug.

350mm barrel in 22 cal. Reg set to 190bar.

No monster RD 25.39gr left so this is with Beast 33.956gr. I get better velocity at lower reg pressure from the custom spa p10 410mm barrel though.

That's crazy, I thought I was maxing out the 350mm barrel by pushing 25 grain slugs at 950 for +- 50 FPE....
I have my reg set at around 180-190 bar, but I really did not notice a huge jump in speed going from 150.... So I am not sure where you are getting the extra speed from.

My plugs say 2x 0.2mm , but they could have been drilled out, I am not sure.

When I have the fire controls off the gun the safety bar drops like it should when the rifle is reassembled it drops a little and shifts to the side a bit but I’m pretty sure it’s not dropping far enough I wonder if I can degass it and remove the mag and close the stock if I can see if it’s dropping far enough to miss the valve pin

Something is up there. If you can upload some pictures. Otherwise, safety issues should be dealt with by the local rep.

.

Well I'm impressed ;) I have no real use for such power but it's fun though. The 22 Lother Walther barrel does not like heavy slugs so much. 21gr H&N group well.

I think the "New Forward Plug" might limit air throughput but this would not be on .25cal. I am using the old plug with the E.A.R. If you want to test it is easy to block one of the jets with a shortend small screw. A temporary modification. I'll post a picture.

I prefer to leave my Sekhmet gauge installed, as it is very unobtrusive, I like having the ability to spot check the pressure at any time.

Having the gauge installed allows me to monitor for leaks, pressure drifts and if the first shot might be unexpectedly hot.

I use a Outdoor Blink camera to monitor for backyard rats, I sometimes need to take out a rat between midnight and sunrise, being able to spot check my pressure insures that the gun is good to go.
