Hi, it appears I am having an issue with my L2. When shooting,

this lever (see picture, my finger is pointing at it) is somehow disengaging and the stock is popping open ever so slightly. This happens almost every time I start shooting. I shot with a bipod and on bags and the issue still persists. Anyone ever seen this issue before?

I cleaned all the oil and grease off of it from shipping. There doesn't appear to be any damage to either part and the gun is accurate aside from this issue. Here are more pictures of the part.

I'm thinking maybe I need to tighten this screw down?

Tighten and see what happens try to fix it yourself before reaching out just might be something simple

Tightening the screw did not resolve the issue. I will attempt to loosen it now. Curious to hear if any other L2 owners have experienced this.

Haven't heard of this before. If you close the gun without a mag in, does it close and stay closed - or can you give it a whack and it'll pop open? I think the key is to find out if that black pin is engaging at all.

I can manually hold the lever down and this fixes the issue however I am sure this is not how the gun is suppose to function. Nothing appears to be damaged. Maybe I need to forward this issue to Ed and his team.

Are you saying that if you hold the black lever in the closed position is works fine, but if you're not holding it it wants to pop open?

ed several possible issues, nothing is resolving the problem. Going to turn down reg now to see if that resolves it.

The pin stays closed even with the mag out. It only seem to disengage when shooting with the mag in it.

I just checked mine. Sounds like your tapered locking pin isn’t going into the hole of the lug far enough. The tapered locking pin locks up the action and on mine it doesn’t take much movement on the lever to disengage and open the action. Only about 1/16” . I would like to have more myself but it does lock and I can’t make it open without pulling the lever. When closed the lever doesn’t go all the way down compared to when the action is open so the pin is either bottoming out in the lug or it isn’t centered in the hole. Check your lever throw when closed and when open and see if the pin is going down all the way when closed. There is an Allen screw and a pin holding the silver lug, see picture. Maybe if you loosen the Allen screw the silver lug can be adjusted in and out to align with the locking pin. I would loosen the screw, close the action and see if that helps. If it does then tighten the screw and you should be good to go. This is just a guess. Please let us know if this does it.

I have a caliper and measured the pin that comes out is 3.42mm. How far does yours come out? Once its locked it won't unlock unless I shoot the gun. I'm wondering now if there is a manufacturer flaw and I don't want to break warranty. I probably won't mess with the reg unless told otherwise. Its issue is nagging and becoming frustrating. It shouldn't behave this way.

I can't get that pin out. I can untighten that screw but the pin is really in there. How would I be able to move it forward if that metal part already has that precut hole for the pin?

Wow that video concerns me as I said my leaver only moves a tiny bit before it unlocks the action. The fact you say it won’t unlock unless the gun is fired really confuses me as it is just a simple locking devise. Is the leaver Jammed tight when closed? Or can you still move it. If you can still move it then the tapered pin must be broken. Definitely call Brian at EdGun West and he will take care of it. Good luck

Sorry I should clarify, it operates as normal when locking/unlocking as long as I'm not firing. When the gun is locked into place, it does not move and stays locked until I fire, then it unlocks itself. I am in contact with Brian at this time. Let's see if he can resolve this.

Any thoughts on maybe the oring being bad for part 3 and causing air to escape to initiate the locking mechanism to pop open during firing?

Just an update if someone ever comes across this issue in the future. speaking with Brian from Edgun West the issue is with part 8. Apparently the spring that I was supplied with is too weak and pops open under the pressure of firing it. Hopefully I can get one from someone and test this. It makes sense after trying other solutions.

So I decided to tinker a bit more and see if I loosened the screw, part #16 at which point would the gun cause the pin to disengage when firing. As soon as I got it to a point where it actually functioned normally, moving the lever and the pin operated normally, it started working properly. I test fired it over 20 times with ammo and everything is working normally now. Not sure why this is the case but it is.
