I was seriously thinking about the .30 Safari in the beginning, but I just love the look of the Red Wolf. And then there’s the Delta Wolf. Now, I’m really considering the .22 for the reasons you just mentioned. And, not that it’s really any big deal but the ammo is cheaper and air consumption is better. Plus, I like the idea of shooting the MRD’s at 960-980fps vs. the 44.75 or 50gr at 870fps or whatever it is. I really wanted a .30 but I know the .22 makes more sense, maybe I just needed to hear it from someone else. I think I might off load some bass gear $$$, since I don’t have a bass boat anymore. I have enough gear to fill three boats! That’ll put me on the Daystate fast track! If not, I’ll sell some fly gear! I have enough of it to fill a fly shop! LOL Can you tell I want a Daystate? Thanks and have a good one!

Stoti,
When I saw you mention bass fishing gear, I had a good laugh. I too realized that I have more fishing poles ( bass, surf fishing, Spec rods, et. al ) now that hardly ever get used and you gave me a good idea. I still fish in Jordan Lake with the boat, but I'm realizing that I can sell some of these seldom used rigs to fund future AG projects!
My RW Safari .25 backstory: I had a brief encounter with the RAW .30 caliber and RW Safari .25 cal barrels and 100 yard accuracy. Tried as I might, I could not get the accuracy I'm currently getting with the RW Safari HP .22 and with my converted RAW HM1000x .22 with MRDs. In no way am I suggesting that others are not getting great accuracy with their larger calibers, just relaying my own experience. Besides that, the air consumption was such that my Great White was needing more frequent fills and trips to the local Dive Shop.
Like you, I began seeing some pretty impressive results with the RW HP .22 and MRDs, so I switched the .25 ART barrel for the .22 HP ART barrel. Only had the gun back from AoA for just about two weeks, but initial accuracy testing and results are much better than I could get with either of the other two larger calibers.
Think of it this way. You won't have as many fishing poles as Air guns --- or maybe not!
