So basically still 5000 + daystate factory trip and gun ... Mmm what if I don't like (I like btw, but just thinking out loud) daystate?

Guess for 2019 RMAC is the winner in money price...

I wouldn’t be surprised if that Italian Billionaire has made an investment in AOA. If the lefties kill the 2nd amendment which they are working on we will become like most of Europe where the air rifle will be the only option without a big roll of red tape.

Let me play devil’s advocate here. I’ve watched shooters in tricky wind conditions shoot in excess of 100 sighters. I’ve personally watched a previous EBR winner shoot that many, or close to that, plus many others do the same. That, plus the 25 targets adds up to a lot of shooting and a lot of air. With these recent power tunes getting 90 fpe or more, shot count has decreased to 25 or 30 with a normal 480cc bottle. With dual 580 cc bottles, they can fill less often, say once instead of 3 or 4 fills. Less time filling, more time shooting, and there’s your advantage. Not having to fill during favorable wind conditions can mean the difference between winning and losing...

It could also be this bad blood between AoA and FX? Hard to say, but my technical explanation above is more than likely the reason. I’d personally love to be able to tether my .30 Bobcat... The recent craze to power tune for 90+ FPE in .30 gives an advantage in the wind, but there’s no free lunch. More power, more air, more fills... FWIW

Heres a thought. Let’s face it. This type of competition is about only one component of marksmanship, it’s about reading the wind. If we REALLY want to see who is best in the wind, and at reading tricky wind conditions, eliminate the fill, like in 25M or 50Y BR This would drastically reduce the amount of sighters, and make a 90fpe .30, which has a wind advantage, a liability. Shooters would have to compromise between power and shot count. Do I shoot the power tuned .30, or a .25 or even .22 with much higher shot count so I can shoot more sighters? Things that make you go hmmm...

YES! I like that. We did the Temecula CA Long Range Challenge like that, and it was eye opening. Guys that you may have thought would do well didn't, and vice versa. Well, except for Bob Corcorran, who always shoots well. I'd modify that a little bit, and say five sighter targets, five sighters, period. But no fills. That's why I said in another post that the most highly skilled shooters overall won or placed high in the Precision Marksman Challenge.
