Easy/Tough Question regarding Reg Creep

It's all about the surface quality of the valve seat. Both sides flat and smooth as a starting point. The soft side will "iron in" somewhat during an early break-in period so it conforms better to the orifice (typically a raised cone with a hole through the middle), at which point it will be least prone to creeping.

I've read so much about this topic my head is about to explode. On my 3rd .22 AVA copy. (Crossman 14.3s)
I start out with Reg at 1500, zero turns on HS and get 905fps. So I turn it in 1/2 turn, 1 turn, 1.5 turns, 2 turns and get 860ish. So then I turn it back to zero turns and still get 860ish. It's enough to drive a person mad.

Whatever your regulator's setpoint, you should be able to dial in more or less hammer spring tension and find a particular maximum velocity. Ignore counting turns...it could be that something is slipping at the end of the adjuster's travel or something along those lines that is misleading you.

The better the mating surfaces quality, the lower the reg creep. Factory regs can creep up to 5 bars over a night or two. You can go as low as below 1 bar with some tuning. Anyway, even 5 bars of creep can be good enough if you tune your hammer spring and reg pressure correctly.
