Eagle Vision INS scope rings quick thoughts

I thought I would share my thoughts on the new Eagle Vision INS adjustable rings that I just ordered. If you have seen me post on ring thoughts, I am definitely one to purchase better rings, more for scope protection and uniformity than for recoil needs or anything else.

Why in the world do they ship with this fancy case? Definitely is nice, but don’t know why I would ever need it.

Looks - these rings look amazing. Probably some of the best looking rings out there in my opinion.

Well Made - they feel very robust and well made. I like how wide they are as well. I would personally prefer nuts on the pic rail screws for proper torquing.

Extras - They even give you 4 extra ring screws! Nice bonus. Also come with scope protection tape.

Adjustability - already pretty tall rings, and still have lots of adjustability in them. It was very easy to access the adjustment screws so that is a plus. One thing I wish they had that the Sportsmatch rings have, a way to easily micro adjust the rings. The Sportsmatch get the win in this category for sure. On the Sportsmatch rings, you can loosen the screws and the rings don’t just drop, they stay where they are adjusted to. You can then turn an adjustment screw to lower or raise the rings in small amounts. All adjustable rings should be that way (I think). Without this, it is much harder to finely adjust the rings when you are trying to adjust by the rings instead of turrets.

Value - At this point (need more time to confirm), they might be my favorite fairly inexpensive rings! They look great, are well made, and have plenty of adjustability. While I prefer the adjustability method of others, these seem nicer. They can keep the fancy packaging and cut the price, and I think they would sell even more.

I have these rings on two of our air guns, both in 30mm & 34mm, they will probably be all I will use going forward unless something better comes along. You said it all, they’re great, well made, work as they should & they look superb.

My boys and I use the cases for holding other small air gun accessories.

As far as nuts vs the little knobs they use to tighten the rings...After you get them cinched down pretty tight, stick an allen wrench through the hole & cinch them down all the way if you feel it necessary. They can be easily locked down tighter than they need to be.

For adjusting the rings elevation without them just plopping down when you loosen the screw...We use the additional screws for that purpose. There is a hole between the bottom two mounting screws, use the short spare screws in that center hole to create slight tension on the rings while adjusting them, that way it won’t just drop. After you get everything adjusted, permanently tighten the screws to help hold it all solidly in place.

On a side note, I bought one of the screw in bubble levels for our first set of rings, it screws in tightly & is level with the bore & reticle. We bought a level with the second set of rings too. This second level doesn’t level & there is no way to adjust it. You either screw it in tightly so it’s secure & not level or you loosen it a bit so it’s level but not secure. I tried an angled, wedge of plastic I made & placed between the rings & bubble level and also an o-ring. I got it leveled but it isn’t secure. If I’m missing something or someone know’s how to alleviate this problem, I’d love to hear about it.

Like Smok3y said, these rings are awesome. Thanks for your review and happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the feedback. Good idea on that pouch. I didn’t think to use it for other stuff. I might try out that idea for adjusting as well. As for that level, I wish I had gone ahead and tried one out. My current one doesn’t work with my new collapsible stock, so having it up there would help. As you said on the level, I have several of the levels that attach to the pick rail that get “unlevel” when screwing then tighter too. I hate that!!
