"Dyeing" to show off my Edgun 3.5

As part of the fun with the pandemic making me look for things to do, I decided to dye the stock on my .30 call. Edgun.

Hope you like it, but if you don't, too bad. It's an improvement over what I started with.

Look fantastic! Gutsy move, whenever I stain wood I never know how it will come out, usually not as I expected.

As BlackICE stated, you don't know what it will really look like until you put the clear coat on. When I first applied the dye, I used straight red and it looked like red wine. Knowing that I wanted a fiery and lively color, I added yellow to wake it up. Maybe the R3M will be next in a sapphire blue? Again, I appreciate all of the positive feedback.

The finish looks awesome..great work I want to do something similar but in some dark gray on my cricket I found that for me the hardest part will be the sanding...could you please explain a little about the sanding process n grits....thanks

No real trick, I stripped it with Jasco stripper then made sure all of the surfaces were free of finish with 180 grit. I'm not savvy enough to do a good job sanding the polyurethane between coats, but I struck it lightly with 320 and put a total of 4 coats to seal it in. The dye has nothing to bond it, so the finish seals it in.

That looks great. I remember a guy redid his M-rod stock in red mahogany and it looks great. I bought some stain but never got around to redoing any stock with it.
