Durable scope for magnum springers?

To all you veteran springers out there... in your experiences to date, what is a durable, good scope for magnum springers? PyramydAir suggested Hawke Airmax AMX, however reading the reviews in their site some owners say otherwise. 


Money aside, what is this magic unicorn that will last 20-30k rounds from springers? Thanks in advance.

By the way have a Hawke Vantage 4-12x50 AO) ...havent mount it on my springer yet; thinking to save that for my PCP. Love that scope, hate to see it break lol.

Leupold EFR or Bushnell TAC (Japan).

Anything with no BS Lifetime Warranty if used on springers.

Have yet to hear Anything bad about Hammers though.

I have the Hammers side focus that looks like the Chinese Falcon -TAC Vector - BSA on a Gauntlet not bad for $100 (I stopped smart they are $189+)

UTG has a line that they claim is springer rated. It is called the TS (TrueStrength) Platform. I have a couple of UTG scopes and they are OK for the money and I have a TS UTG on my Diana 460 right now.

awhile back, before i got into pcps and was looking for something to eradicate squirrels around here and i bought this vicious widow maker magnum springer from PA, i mean you almost needed a pipe extension to cock it, and it busted a couple of my scopes lol .. we finally put a gamo 4X on it and that worked ... i have a couple of those and have learned to like them more than about anything for pesting out to 50 anyway, theyre light to and are always on something and been in constant use for years .. but putting high end optics and that kind of money on a bang-gun like that .. i wouldnt do it myself ..

Wow.. thank you guys. Will check out some of these you posted. Currently have a Leupold FX-II ULTRALIGHT 2.5X20, on my R9; mostly for indoor 10yd shooting. My eyes have aged, hehe.

Wrote to Leupold before the purchase; obviously they said 'yes will more than hold up to a springer'; whether or not, have it in writing along with their no b/s warranty.

Now that am looking to get out into the open/field, looking for a durable 3-9x or 3-12x, or another Leupold, mid-high fixed.

The Leupold EFR that Odoyle mentioned would be perfect. 3-9x33 I think. They focus really close for indoor practice and they are priced great for a Leupold. Only downside is no mildots. They a lot weigh less than most springer rated scopes too.

I have used my Hawke Airmax 30 compact on 2 magnum springers with no issues.

The Bushnell elite 4 to 16 x 40 is an absolutely wonderful Magnum Springer scope. Great for hunting and great for target. Great Japanese glass

The Vantage scopes are only rated for 12fpe or less springers so yep, save it for the PCP. If you're that worried about a scope holding up, consider either the Sportsmatch Dampa mount or Diana Bullseye ZR mount. Either should help protect whatever scope you end up deciding on.

I've had good luck with two scopes on hard hitting springers. These don't break the bank either.

Hammers & UTG True Hunter. Had a Hawke Airmax on a Sig asp20 that didn't hold up.

FWIW, I have used 2 Hawke Airmax scopes on my HW95L with no problems so far. This Weihrauch would not be considered a magnum.

I am with Odoyle on this one: Leupold and Bushnell TAC would do well. And if you dont mind searching 2nd hand, then the old Bushnell Legend 5-15x40, made in the Philippines would be a good cheaper option: it held out on my scopekiller Theoben Eliminator .22

I use Hawke scopes on many rifles, including springers. Never had one fail.

@deerstalker Thanks. Good to know (from perspective of the R9/hw95) that the Airmax works well there.

R9/hw95, def are not magnum level. Overall figured what's good enough for the magnums should work for the non-magnums. This way I know whatever scopes I get can be used within the collection (currently R9/ hw80/ R7/ Diana 48/ 34/ 350 mag ...ugh, the R9 and covid is to blame as to how am $$$ deep in the pocket in the air world, upon the first 100 shots; story for another day, lol).

I will give the Sportsmatch Dampa mount a try, per @Scp52 's suggestion ...on the Diana 350 mag. If my Vantage holds up with that mount setup thats one viable solution. Outside of that looks like you all gave me plenty of glass options to try. Very much appreciate it!

Ask any scope maker, a mount will not supplant the warranty applications/recommendations of a scope. If the scope breaks you will have the down time waiting for it to be replaced and have to lie about the use. Neither are good ideas.
