Dumb RTI shroud question

NO...disc modification required..!

I tried something off of another gun. Makes the RTI (Prophet, Prophet Compact) ALMOST, church mouse quiet. Light, simple.

Only did a coupla shots this evening, not specifically for accuracy, but the few I shot looked good. Will try more shots tomorrow to verify.

Then I'll find out if the part can be easily purchased by people that don't want a big piece of aluminum hanging off the barrel/shroud.

Mike - There a handful of us chasing the same thing and curious if you will share your findings. If your on the verge of mouse fart quiet with the Prophet without an add on I would be real interested. Thanks Mike

Seems odd that RTI would charge $1800 for a gun with an empty shroud but that can be fixed for pennies.

I am receiving a Prophet Performance Compact today, finally after it was mistakenly shipped 2nd Day instead of Red Label overnight. But wait... UPS delayed the 2nd Day by one day. The retailer dismissed my shipping charges and I am good with it all.

P.s. - The barrel is held in place by the action block and essentially "free floating". There is "the" disc screwed to the end that helps support the barrel to the shroud. The disc has an o-ring that contacts the i.d. of the shroud for the contact from the barrel to the shroud. The o-ring makes sure that there is no metal to metal contact, and that some movement can happen between the two.
