Dual Safari's rough it for a few days

Hello everyone,

Wanted to share my recent big adventure as it's been awhile since I have had the opportunity to do any of my normal big trips. I have a new little one at home so as you can imagine it's not always easy to slip away for these overnights. For the past month I have been testing and reviewing the New Brocock Safari XR in .22 caliber that I received from Airguns Of Arizona. I have used and abused just about every model of Brocock product over the years so I was excited to get something different to get out in the field. For this trip I was accompanied by my good friend Terry, AKA Offhand-Airgunner as well as my dog Marley, we headed into a remote area of the Mojave desert. The plan was to tent camp, do some hunting, shooting and cooking over several days. We had no luck with the hunting but we were able to enjoy the trip with plenty of open area to do some shooting and testing of various different pellets. I had decided to loan Terry my Daystate Safari in .30 caliber to use and enjoy on this trip, hence making this a "Dual Safari" adventure. Both the guns were an absolute joy to shoot and we all had a great time in one of the best camping spots I've ever stayed at. Hope some may appreciate and enjoy the video that I filmed as best quality as possible. Here are a few pictures as well as the video documentary.

Nice video, I like the locations that you choose for your videos, also the camping gear , The past video on the 12 volt cooler , was a good one , I never thought much of 12 volt coolers, UNTIL that video. Now I want one! Of course the gun segments, are awesome , and what brought me to your site in the first place . But the over all way you combine locations, airguns, other gear, and food is real entertaining and informative . THANK YOU !! for your time putting these videos together for the rest of us to enjoy.

@crosman999 Dana, watched the video yesterday and enjoyed it as all of them. You are right, unless a gun is taken in the field for testing in the dirt and sand so to speak, you can’t give it a seal of approval for backcountry hunting. IMHO, thus why I love your stuff, plus the whole adventure part makes for a great video. Hope your family are well and stay safe.

After watching many of Dana’s videos over the last few months, I had the chance to shoot the Brocock Sniper Magnum XR and the Daystate Redwolf at Shooters Bench in Nampa, Idaho last Wednesday.

the Redwolf is out of my league unfortunately but I really liked the Brocock. It has the Hawke Sidewinder and the DonnyFL on it.

the Brocock, while not an entry level gun may be where I end up.

Thanks to Dana and his channel.

So which one of these is your favorite and why the Daystate or the Brocock?

I really like the XR models, built very ruggedly for the type of trips I do. The Redwolf shoots really well but the length can sometimes be an issue when hiking through thick brush. The Safari XR in .22 shoot a variety of pellets extremely well and is simple to tune up and down.
