If the reg pressure increases after a period of time... why would you need to fire a shot or two to avoid the first shot being fired with less speed. I would think if the reg pressure did rise a little, the first shot would be faster unless it was so high your hammer couldn't open the valve.
Bob is right. It is one of the fundamentals with a pcp gun. When pressure increase, the valve will need more force from the hammer to open, to give the same amount of air.
The valve in airguns is basically not much different from the valves we have in the tyres in bicycles and cars. That litle pin in a car tyre valve require a given force to open, when filling the tire, just as a valve in a gun require to release a set amount of air
