dry fire damage?

I had dry fired my benjamin marauder in .22 I had the rifle cocked and ready but didn't chamber the pellet all the way the bolt was somewhat open. It made a huge crack when I fired. Like an un shrouded gun. Could this cause any damage? I haven't shot the rifle sense. I'm scared if there is anything wrong with it it will make it worse

You won' hurt it dry firing it. The loud noise was just the air blowing back in your face from the bolt being partially open. No harm, carry on.

Next time let it off easy...... Hold the bolt all the way back Pull the trigger and slowly let the hammer release... No dry fire needed.

Keep in mind that you are releasing a blast of 3,000 psi air. It will be very loud but can't really hurt anything except maybe your ears. The worst that could happen is that it could possibly dislodge the o-ring that seals the bolt probe to the end of the barrel. But I don't think that very likely. Have fun!
