Again protecting the Bird feeder . Two youth Squirrels , one brain shot and my first heart shot kill . Both hit the ground with a thud and never twitched a bit. Motionless , which i get most of the time as i only aim at the brain , Today i only had that perfect heart shot so i took it .
As a side note i buy two (20 pound bags of bird seed every 3 weeks ) The squirrels will eat about 2 pound of seed a day . so the birds eat 3 pounds a day . .
Guess you can't really call this hunting , 50 feet to the feeder . HW 97 .177 wadcutters @ 11.6 FPE.

You get mostly no twitching with brain shots? I’m 100% headshot guy but I’d say that 80% or so start twitching for anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds after they drop. They’re all DRT but most will do at least some kicking on the ground… the ones just dropping and staying motionless are far and few between for me…

you need to study the anatomy 360 degrees so you know exactly where to aim from any angle . thats what i did . not sure if it matters but i also use Wadcutters , nice flat nose pellets , splatters that brain like a hammer smashing a paint ball .

Maybe that’s a difference, for me it’s either regular domed pellets or slugs. And the occasional hades. Shot placement is exactly where I thought it’s supposed to be, like between the eyes or middle of a straight line between eye and ear if sideways… and usually it’s with anywhere from 30 to 70fpe depending on the gun so they are smacked with authority… or am I missing something?! Here’s a vid with a few examples and a pic re shot placement (sorry in advance in case you don’t want to see those…):

this shot looks good i'm using 11.6 FPE and 8.2 grains . still waiting on video /// OK saw video , that last shot you most likely skimmed the left side of the brain (your left viewing the vid) , And yes i would say 40 % of my shots dance but 60 % DRT also i do not take a lot of shots they get a free pass if the shot is not right on .
