FX DRS Pro .22 Cast Bullets?

I can't get a day without horrible wind, but that's Eastern Washington this time of year. I cast some better quality bullets(oh sorry" slugs") and at 60 yards it improved a bit.Reg set at 150 Bar and I've yet to chronograph them or play with the hammer spring .

I shot 10 out of the Eagle Claw and I was surprised it shot them at all..

I have been getting results casting a 39 grain spire point at .225 diameter soft pure lead and then powder coating.. And not sizing them shooting in a factory Airforce Condor Lother Wather 1 17.7 twist barrel.. I cut the choke off the end and hand lead lapped barrel. It is .221 in diameter.. I can get 1050 fps in 17 inch barrel with a custom doug noble valve...If you want any send me a pm..

i have a 35g bullet sized .222 in my Seneca and it did better uncoated. I tried a couple of the PC 35's in the DRS and they didn't get 1/2" into the barrel as the diameter and PC seemed to turn them into a bore obstruction !
Same happens with .362 PC bullets in my Recluse after 6 shots when the power drops slightly. But in the Dragon Claw. 50 is shoots .503 PC bullets great even on low power.

did you throat the breech end of the barrel to help the larger bullet fit?
I throat 30 caliber powder burners for cast bullets with 1.5 deg throating reamer and notice an improvement most often.

No i did not.. After lead lapping the throat fits up 39 grains flush with the end of barrel.. I put a new 11 degree target crown on it..I was actually super suprised the whole combo works..The bore is .221 but it shoots best with slugs unsized at .225 and then shooting them to obitrute to the bore..Soft lead.. I started lapping with 120 grit valve lapping compound then 240 grit, 320 grit...And after hand lead lapping i still getting a few flyiers so i air lapped it putting 320 grit valve lapping coumpound on about 70 slugs and shoot them.. It is shooting pretty good now...I have a teslong digital borescope if im smart enough too ill post some vidoes of bore... For one of my Chazel 12 twist .222 barels i rented a 22lr throater from PTG to throat...The Lother Walther factory barrel lapped is getting some one hole 3 shot groups at 25 yards..
