FX DRS Pro .22 Cast Bullets?

I have one coming in the mail and am curious who is casting bullets/slugs for these barrels and if so what mold are you using and what diameter is working?

I'm a bullet caster of 40 years and have a few short .22 bullet molds and sizers to size them down to .218 as of now. I shot a few short 35g bullets sized to .220 in my seneca and they shot decent but magazine feeding was dicey and they would often fall backwards out of the mag and lock the gun up.

another question, does anyone make a 1-16 twist .224 barrel for these?

What alloy are you using for airguns and do they have lube grooves ? As for the barrel, it's probably a custom machining item. .

I want to cast and size for 217 but don't have a mold and haven't made any sizing press tooling for it made up yet.

If you want a 1:16 , get yourself a Redmans .22lr barrel liner from Brownells. Almost a perfect fit, you’ll need to do the finish work on the length and taper one end slightly to get it in the barrel adapter. I fit one to an MK2 Impact and worked great. The only limit then will be bullet length.

The alloy.
I use mostly is recovered Indoor range scrap which is a lot of 22 bullets and just a few harder ones. Hardness works out to about 10-12 bhn. And the bullets I have used do have lube grooves.
I have a couple of Korean guns in 50 and 35.And I shoot harder bullets out of those and they shoot phenomenal. They are traditional pistol style bullets .

I thought about that I have a little lathe I run but i'm not very good at it but I can make simple things.

Very nice. If i can find a mold I like I can make my version of Lee bullet sizer and was thinking of doing just pure lead and a little tin to make it flow out and be a little harder like the antimony formerly in the crosman premieres. You have more wisdom and time on boolits than I do, so I'm always looking to learn. I've only got 18 years of carting under my belt and it's mostly all the flavors of 35.

Any pointers on a mold are much appreciated. The noe is out of stock, but i do own one of their molds and it's my favorite one to work with.

well I decided to take a chance and ordered this 35g MP mold.I have a few of his molds and they cast wonderful. The length appears as if it will fit the magazine.

I heated the pot up and ended up having to stop before the mold was fully up to temp to do other household chores. With the few very ugly bullets I decided to run down the road and just see if they cycled in the mag and if they were stable.
i shot a mag at about 60 yards off the tailgate. First two were right then the others a bit better.I'm not unhappy considering the bullet quality.

Minute of vampire!
Yeah now i'll get serious about it. I was suspect they would feed out of the magazine properly was my main concern.
The reason for the purchase of this gun was for offhand practice at one hundred yards cheaper than 22 LR.The balance of the rifle is similar to my 22 lr match gun.
i have well over a thousand pounds of pure lead and I can make these things for next to nothing($1.25 per 500) . If I can get minute and a half that will plenty accurate for what I want to do.

Ha--not a criticism, looking good so far. Any different plans for lubricant beyond normal PB stuff? Zero experience with or knowledge of AG slug casting, but can see that as a future rabbit hole.

I shoot some big bore air guns with cast bullets. And i've played around with a carnauba wax lubricant, Rooster Liquid Jacket as well as powder coating. I really couldn't draw any conclusions at one was better than just shooting a bare bullet.
I had a mold for casting a diabolo pellet similar to a JSB with hollow base in 22.And I never got it to shoot worth it crap.

Bullet casting is a huge rabbit hole.I've been doing it for 40 years.Competing in matches and I have about 300 bullet moulds..
