Dreamline Tactical vs Impact MKII

Doesn't matter what gun you go with. They are both fx guns so both will use same barrel and liners. The big different is price. The impact is $2000 and the dreamline is $999-1100.

With a bottle its that price?

No $999 is the basic model. I think it cost more to customize the dreamline. I believe it goes up to $1300. But still cheaper than $2000 for the impact.

Yeah i see your point, great option to have no doubt.

Hey,

I was in the same boat as you are impact vs dreamline (this just before the impact power planum came out).

i picked the dreamline tactical bottle version and shot it for a few months then i got an impact .... I had some issues with the dreamline that were fixed by FX (they send me a new part for free and very quickly).

for me the big difference uis best described as follows: the dreamline feels a bit more refined, the action is super smooth and trigger is excellent bit has a bit less power. The impact is a powerhouse but is a bit more clunky, the action is less smooth and the trigger is a bit heavier.

What i prefer in the design of the impact is that the barrel is not sticking out as much and i think its less prone to POI shift as the construction is a bit more rigid.

If you tend to shoot real heavy pellets i would go for the impact, if you want a real fun gun and stick to the lighter side of he spectrum of pellets go for the dreamlite.

if this is your first PCP then please also look at all the other additional cost: bottle, scope, case, moderator, pellets, cleaning kit, and so on. I think some first time shooters forget about this and this can be as much as the cost of a dreamline it self (dependent on the choices you make). All the additional cost was a driving factor for me to go with the dreamline.

just my thought

What do you consider lighter pellets and what caliber? My shooting buddy has a Dreamline tactical with the bottle in .25 Cal and can shoot the JSB 34g @ 925 FPS it could shoot them faster if he tuned the gun hotter. His regulator is set @ 130 bar and he has the power plenum on it.

not really sure, at that point I'd suggest you go for the Impact if you power. I have a Crown and got the Dreamline Tac compact to compliment and for around the house etc. it's an awesome combo, but if you want an all in one answer the Impact might better. Not sure you can change valves easily, you can add a plenum to either one to get more FPS. The plenum won't fit on the currrent barrel of the dream compact tac but they are releasing a new barrel soon so you can fit it, it fits on most if not all the other dreamline combos. not sure I will ever need it with the Crown, thats where I can shoot slugs etc. If you want HP get the impact. You also want to consider distance and what you are shooting. Dreamline might also be fine when you break it all down in what you will actually use it for.

I would also like to shoot long range targets @ 100-150 meters/yards, but that needs more than just a 600 mm barrel. The 700 mm barrel mounted to Dreamline looks soo long and vulnerable to handling, in contrast to a Impact where almost a half length is "locked" to a body. This just my tinkering based on pictures, I have nobody around me with any FX guns.

Anybody is actually actively scoring long ranges with the Dreamline?
