"Dreaming" of a Dreamline ;)

All this is, is an example of marketing geinous from FX. Take away a $400 laminate stock and $350 carbon fiber tank you got the Dreamline. So far Steve’s numbers do not impress. Would be a huge mistake to stop selling the streamline. As for the Bullpup version...... the reason many buy the wildcat is for the cocking lever being forward as opposed to the dreamline bullpup version which is back more like a true bullpup.

OK, I do have one complaint about the hype. It's probably worthless to change calibers or stocks at this price point. Consider you can get a new "Classic" for $1000 in synthetic.

So, if a barrel kit including a probe maintains the Impact's $400 price tag, just save the money for a whole new gun. Besides, once you put the work into tuning the gun to a specific caliber and pellet, no way you'll want to change it. Just too much work to do it over and over again.

As for the stock, my bet is that stocks will start at no less than $200, so again, by the time you buy the stock, retune the gun and everything else, just buy another gun.

I guess that's the real genius of the marketing, suck you in with all the options, then you realize, it's just about as cheap to buy a whole new gun, and who doesn't want a whole new gun anyway??

This was the reason I bought the Crown, so I wouldn't have to buy a separate gun to shoot 30 caliber.

Separate gun means separate scope and rings, so there's another $500.00 you'd have to spend.

Also, it shouldn't be a hassle at all to swap calibers/barrel kits. You'd have to tune a separate gun anyway, no way around that. 

So you'd just tune one caliber, write down the reg pressure, transfer port and hammer spring setting. Tune the next caliber and take note of the settings. After that it's just a barrel and probe swap, set the reg pressure, turn a couple of dials, check and adjust your zero and you're good to go.

I could shoot birds all morning with the 22 caliber barrel, then switch to 30 caliber if I want to shoot woodchucks in the afternoon.

With the money you save by not buying a whole extra gun and scope, you could buy a Nightforce SHV or something else very nice.

Thats my plan.

I wish you well. In your case, swapping calibers might just work, but I'll just save pennies and buy another gun, rings, and scope. I'm too OCD to just write it down and hope I'm close when I change calibers. I'll just tune it and shoot it. Then my OCD will be happy!

One more thing I'll say about the Dreamline - Remember a month or so ago when Airgun Depot did the 5 ugliest guns? Well, proud to say, the Impact won hands down, but you gotta admit, the Impact has a serious challenger for ugliest gun.

IMHO, the Dreamline Light wins hands down as the ugliest. Makes the Impact look downright pretty. Not only that, they charge an extra $100 over the Classic for all that ugly!

That's one advantage of the Dreamline though. If someone gave me a Light, I could get a different stock easily, once they are available. Then it would be pretty, and not so ugly.

(Remember Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and this beholder does think the Light isn't pretty at ALL!)

I actually love the look of the Impact.

And I like the look of the DL in all of it's current configurations.

The Dream-Pup looks a lot like the Bobcat though, which I love the looks of.

I know that it would probably have to be broken down to put in a case, but I feel like only offering it with the 500mm barrel is a step backwards? I am curious about accuracy comparisons and wonder if it can be tested with longer barrels.

Fell in love with this gun when I saw it on the FT stock, but I'm afraid after I put all the money into tricking it out I'll wish I'd just bought an Impact (the one in my picture is hubby's)

Trying to be patient and make a good decision.

If I win I want the Classic tho 2nd choice Lite and eventually change the stock

Yes... my guess is it'll take FX a few months to get everything rolled out. The one you're referring to is called the DreamFT.

Yes, meant tank. The Streamline used a 190cc tank for the .177 and .22 and a 250cc tank for the .25. For the Dreamline, it looks like they did away with the 190 altogether and just standardized the lineup with a 250cc tank.

I believe the 240 cubic inch is really a 240 cubic centimeter tank they are referring to. 40 shots would be about right.
