Great shot. You said that you were in the sitting position? How do you do that with a bipod though? Maybe I misunderstood. Is not having a cheek piece ever an issue? I would think when doing some field hunting and wanting to get a quick acquisition on a target, the lack of cheek piece might slow you down? I've never used a bull pup, so maybe it's just not an issue.

This shot was a 1st for me sitting in this certain position. I was sitting on the cement deep inside my front porch. Shooting off a empty upside down 30 gallon fish tank w/ the small atlas bipod up front & a small sandbag as my rear support. Usually, I am laying prone on my stomach for my front porch shots.

The .22 Mutant Shorty basically has a very small cheek weld area. I'm not sure how some guys set their cheek weld w/ longer scopes on their Shorty's. The swfa 3-15×42 ffp scope I use on the Shorty is compact enough for me for quick acquisition on a target, & balances on the small pup very well. I have found out that when I place/slide the end of the action into my right cheek hole (hollow hole area in my right cheek), this creates the perfect very consistent very quick cheek weld for me. I have told others of this trick, & this process has worked well for them. So when setting up your Shorty, you would 1st position your cheek weld in place, then position your compact scope to give you your best eye relief.

If every you get a chance to shoot a Mutant Shorty or Veteran, please do give her a try. She's my truck pup, she goes everywhere I go. Or if your ever in DFW area, give me a pm...

Hope this helps...

Thanks Sir...

Nice shot on the squirrel, really like your level on that shorty

The Nightforce bubble level in the rear of the scope is very compact level for quick leveling when shooting prone off the ground...

The Long Range Arms Bubble Level up front is a very clever device for dawn/dust shooting...

Both levels are really easy to set up & are "set it & forget it" types of bubble levels...

Many Thanks Sir...

Nhat,

A couple of observations. Fine shooting Sir! Consider Craftsman for that quality look. There is still room for a couple more gadgets on that Shorty. Lastly, missed you at the last Texas Show. Take care!

Dwight

Whats up Dwight...good to hear from ya...

I have some Craftsman screwdrivers also...might bust them out soon...

Hahah...scope is congested enough for now...

I was there @ the TAG show, stopped @ the SWFA store 1st, then got to the airgun show @ noon, & my buddy challenged me to a 50 yard shootout (only range available @ the time). My .25 Raw vs. his .25 Impact all afternoon. Ask Joe (cyclops) he saw me there...it was fun...

Thanks Sir...
