Kabuki: I need a set of screw drivers please.

Hardware Store Employee: Sure, phillips or flat head?

Kabuki: Doesn't matter as long at they're corrosion resistant and will fit through .22 caliber wounds.

Employee: Sure, not a probl...umm, do what?

Kabuki: You heard me

Hahah...I clean the Doc's screwdrivers meticulously after every use...

For a 23 fpe 22" pup she's shooting ropes...

Kabukicrack,

How many shots per fill do you get with this tune. I’m currently shooting 18.1 JSB at 825 with great accuracy, 40 to 45 shots on a 230 bar fill. My 22 Veteran shorty is used primarily for squirrel hunting as well, but am considering bird pest control and looking for more shots per fill, so thinking light pellet and lower FPS can get me to 50 or 60 shots. What do you think?

Dennis,

Your .22 Veteran Shorty is suppose to have a much more better efficient valve w/ the dual transfer ports than the 1st gen .22 shorty's like mine. 40-45 shots per fill from that small air tank is amazing already. IMO, squeezing out a couple more shots is not worth losing accuracy, unless accuracy is still there w/ lighter pellets, & you trying to lower your fps. I'm not sure what's the length of your barrel is also? I've seen .22 shorty's & .22 vet shorty's having different size barrels is why I ask. That makes a difference in accuracy & fps. My .22 shorty barrel is only 12" long. I've seen other .22 shorty barrels @ 13.5" long which can increase your fps w/ whatever pellet.

I'm getting ~45 shots from a 250 bar fill down to 150 bar w/ jsb 16g pellets @ 815 fps @ 23 fpe from that lil air tank.

If your getting super great accuracy out to 100 yards, I'd stick w/ your current settings & not worry about shots per fill. Remember, our .22 Shorty's has a small volume air tank for a reason...haha. Accuracy is alway supreme in my eyes. I would rather blast jsb 18g pellets any day rather than the jsb 16g, 14g, or any less weight pellets just to fight the wind better. I completed a tune on my buddy's .22 shorty a couple months ago. My buddies shorty was shooting the exact same specs as your .22 Vet shorty.
I made/created a oversized elevation turret label for him shooting out to 125 yards very accurately & I set up his data for holdover on Stelok Pro . He loves that pup now...

I'd leave your settings alone & bring your air tank for quick fill ups. Please remember, ACCURACY is always KING...

You can try shooting lighter pellets to test for accuracy & an increase in shot count but the wind will always be there waiting on you when your about to shoot that critter @ +50 yards...

Hope this info can help ya...

Here's a long lucky shot on a flapper recently w/ no wind...

Instead of Screwdrivers, Bamboo Stakes? Longer Cheaper and don't corrode.

Nice shooting.

Smitty

That means I'll have to drive to the Asian Supermarket (where I sell all my squirrels to...haha...) & purchase some bamboo stakes?...it could may be done...but prob not...I'll have too many Dr. Stanley screwdrivers laying around then...

Thanks for the option Sir...

Great shooting! Must be pretty quiet too at 23fpe.

What caliber are the screw drivers and pencil?

CA

Yes, you're correct Sir. 23 fpe is pretty quiet. While shooting the 4 visiting squirrels yesterday, my neighbors 60 yards away had 4 A/C guys install a brand new A/C unit outside of their house. After every shot @ the squirrels, I would check to see if the A/C installers would look around to see/hear the shot report/noise. Those A/C guys kept on working like Hebrew Slaves noticing nothing as the ground rained squirrels around them...haha...

Dr. Stanley screwdrivers came in a very useful variety pack...size depends on what caliber the Doc selects to blast for the day & the size of the critters...haha...

The drawing pencil was a #2 soft graphite...haha...

Thanks Sir...
