Dr. K. Mini Performs Brain Surgery on Sick Fox

This sickly Fox had it’s brain surgically disconnected from the rest of the body by a 14 grain CPHP out of the KGC Mini Carbine in .22 at 30 yards.

The incision was made at the crown of the head, with the patient’s nose pointing down. The pellet entered dead center just below the ear line as noted below.

The patient did not survive the surgery. It was really insane, I just saw it drop instantly without any further movement thereafter.

I put a young one down in September with the same mange affliction. His whole rear quarter was covered with that nasty looking crud. He was standing in the middle of my street, head down and miserable skin and bones. Walked right up to him with my D34 and placed a .22 Crosman 14.3 gr. in the same head spot. Dropped dead right now. He smelled like he was a week decomposed. Mother Nature can be cruel.

@TiredRooster : Thanks. I can genuinely say that the poor thing was not doing well at all.

It hung out for quite a bit, it was actually eating out of the pile of Acorns I had put out back. I was sitting there waiting on an evasive Gray, when all of a sudden it came in. I considered shooting it with the LGV in .22, but was not sure it would suffice. I actually got up, opened my door, got the Mini from the garage, came out again, sat down, lined it up, and waited for the shot. A nice healthy fox would have made me fast and bolted.

Well, I ain’t eating it that’s for sure! Got buried but had no Lime, used it all up on Tequila

last night! ;)

Chopped off the tail in hopes of disinfecting it and maybe doing something with it later, or just hang it in the workshop.

Lol funny you mention that. It was margarita night last night. I may of had a few! I’d wash the tail in hot water and dish soap.
