down the rabbit hole part 3 - pellet sorting.

this is a continuation of 2 separate posts regarding pellet sorting and how much you go nuts with it ,and , is it worth it in the end? i had many responses from great folks who already have greater understanding about this than me. i took some of their suggestions and began some testing. pellet groups were sorted for bent skirts , head size , and weight. results were quite curious to me. guns used were vulcan 2 and FX wildcat 2 - both are 25 cal. 1st round results. each group was 8- 5 shot groups at 25 yards. sorry , best i could do , it was rain threat.

obviously , much more extensive pellet testing is required to get definitive results with multiple batch testing. so much is yet to be seen.

Variability from pellet brand to pellet brand and even lot to lot of the same type as well as barrel to barrel will probably always make pellet sorting a contentious issue. The variability may make a concrete answer fitting everyone impossible. I don't do it for casual shooting but I do for those pellets that I really want to rely on. Might be accomplishing nothing but it makes me more confident so it works for me. Others will certainly disagree, some vehemently. Hope you find what works for you.
