Double barrel daisy in mint condition 1970

Went to the vallejo gun show and saw this mint condition double barrel daisy and offered 50 bucks for it. The dude laughed and showed me the airgun blue book. It's worth 1000 bucks! He wanted full value but offered 300lbs of scrap lead to sweeten the deal. I ve been chewing my fingernails and put his number in my phone like 4 times and never hit call....... I have a problem. It's the one on the far right

I loaded the picture to my desktop to look at the wood

book says only 48 walnut stocks were made but because of how dark it is can't tell if it is walnut

.the reason is it ups the value 50 to 100%

and if it had checkering on the rib another 30%

so the gun is not in 95% unless it has a fresh rebuild and has never been used, so with that said no walnut no checkering maybe a 90% rifle 825.00 to 875.00

the seller is going for gold and you as a buyer is try not to go under water

if you have a big bank account go for it but some horse trading might be in order

are there parts to make it run or will it just be a rare paper weight

when that was sold I don't know but the price was reduced to sell it

no shortage of rifle for sale

always go to completed items to see the past sales and in this case there is a wide price range

so are the stock wood or plastic anyway

Looks like a very nice Daisy. I would say the price is in the right ballpark.

Agree. A very rare piece in apparently very good condition. If it is something you want then that price doesn't appear to be out of line at all. If you are looking at it as an investment then who knows. Hard to value rarely available items. I had used one regularly that belonged to a neighbor in the 60's and would love to run across something like that today.

Also, note that almost all of the examples noted for sale above are gone with one bid at $1600 +.

No I mean that because the plastic ones were broken, marred or scratched so easily that a plastic stock in perfect condition is rare. I don't know anything about the numbers made etc. In fact I only know what I read in the airgun blue book right there at the show and what the guy told me the appraisal said. He could have been lying for all I know. I didn't even know they existed until last Saturday.

Hmm seems like I need to do more digging. I will go read the bluebook again and figure this out. I do think he is trying to get every single penny that it's worth however 300lbs of lead might be well worth it for me. I make fishing weights and bullets out of them and I need lead badly atm..... I usually but cheaper hunting guns but for some reason I just want to blow money I don't have on this one.
