I was just working on my rifle and had it sitting on my Caldwell V bag and Caldwell jr rest, I walked away for a second and boom the bag flips sideways and the gun rolls off the table and onto to the floor in slow motion just out of reach. forty five years I have been shooting and never dropped a gun, Time for a gun vise anybody have a recommendation?

Tipton is hard to beat. Very useful for scope mounting and cleaning . I used mine this morning to bore sight a rifle. Now you don't shoot off the one I have but it's something I wouldn't be without.

Yup, I'd also recommend the vise that Brian posted! 
Those Tipton setups are Very Nice for the price, and the only reason I don't have one already is.. 
I'm looking for a version that would double as a rest that I can also shoot of from.

Thanks everyone they all look great but I think I am going to go with cosmic's suggestion it is the most affordable and allows me to use it as a shooting rest also.

I have always been so worried about an airgun falling that I tend to overlook where I set them. But it happens.

MTM make a handy "bench" to work on air rifles or powder burners. the "forks" are removable and can be stored in the covered trays...

Been there done that. I've since preferred to use the Caldwell Tack Driver style front bag. Haven't had that problem with a "Tack Driver" style bag.
