Ordered one of these and put it on a FX Wildcat .25 and noticed the group size increased with not much sound reduction. Anyone else noticed this?

I've got two Tatsu silencers.
Have had the two on a total of four different guns. No problem on any of the four, accuracy wise, but I have noticed that the gun seems to matter..? Saying that it works well at calming the bark on one gun but not so much on another ?! All .22 cal. Also, the power levels are similar, not exactly the same but close. And one gun that it works well on, is a higher powered gun. I don't understand that one.

At times also, same moderator on two different guns of the 'SAME exact model gun' may even print slightly different results.

The Tatsu didn't do much to quiet any of my guns either. I own several models and notice that the length is more important than the width. Don't know why that is because I read that its the volume of the device that makes it quiet. As for your POI shift I didn't experience any, but I shoot under 35 yards.

Take it apart and take the tape off the felt and take felt off reassemble and try see how that works for you. On my wolverine 177 the groups came back and it was still quiet

I have one for a 22 and use it on a 177 without any issues. When I swap to a 22 barrel and use the same silencer it still shoots very well.

I had the same outcome with my Tatsu so I took my Sumo off of my other gun and the Sumo made a big difference. I shoot my Warcat .25 @ 890 fps.

If it seems it isn't working, it is telling you that you are wasting a LOT of air. Time to tune that gun. It will be quieter, smoother shot cycle and gain shots.

I would say that I had a slight reduction in sound, but the DonnyFL mostly "changed" the sound to be more pleasant and less annoying for neighbors. Sounds more like a nail gun now. I have two Donnys and both had this experience. I was told that the bigger the space in the moderator the more sound reduction. Both my Donnys are Sumo, so I would assume that the Ronin would be slightly quieter.
I also have a Silent Ordnance Sarissa and that moderator definitely quiets the rifles down an incredible amount, but its got a lot more air space inside the moderator also. So as some have said, possibly moderator to caliber specific?

The Tatsu I got was for a Maverick Compact in .22. I tested it on my Wildcat .25 and I meant to say the sound reduction was not much compared to the stock moderator which is also very quiet, went with the Tatsu because it is shorter. It will probably be great on the Compact!

Tried one on my new .22 Revere, wasn't satisfied with noise reduction. Sumo makes a noticeable improvement.

So with what everyone is saying space matters, bigger volume is better for db volume. So you want quieter you sacrifice compactness. On my 30 impact compact I am shock at how loud it is. I put the very large Sarissa on it and the sound is nothing. But the moderator is longer than the barrel shroud. I out the sumo on it and it's still loud, but its 1/3 the size and less air space.

I have a tatsu, and it made no noticable difference than the hollow FX mod. But to be fair, it is a litle shorter. Donny FL moderators are probably nice, but I personally will recommend a modular moderator like the one huma make, with removable sections. That way you can experiance with different sections and lenght, all depending on what gun you use it for. If it is to load for one gun, then add another section to make it quieter, and if it very quiet on another gun, then remove one or two sections if you want it shorter.

I put a Tatsu up against a Ronan on my Evol hps. Just by ear there was little difference. So much that I wonder if there was any at all. They both did the job and worked well.

I have the .25 sumo on my cayden and it works great. I was out target shooting last week, and the ground squirrels were not even bothered by the gun sound. I took the sumo off and shot with out it and they scattered like mad! I have thought about getting the tatsu for it's size but I think that I will stay with the sumo.

There might be a difference between a gun with, or without a shroad? On the impact some of the air blast goes into the shroud. But the gun is very load with shroad only. To me,the tatsu made almost no difference compared to the holow tube, attached on the shroad on the impact.

I put a Tatsu on a .22 Brocock Bantam. It make an amazing difference in the sound level. I couldn't be more pleased.
