My issue is that I have a .25 Sumo and my TalonP, and I keep getting small clipping. So, that being said and my plans to buy a .50 cal at some point, I thought why not throw an emperor on my talonp. Now you know why I want a 1/2x20 thread for a emperor, so that I can eventually use the full diameter.



I was thinking the Sumo in .25 for my .22 Weihrauch for weight, not the emperor. Thanks guys

Your clipping is caused by a shroud alignment issue. Buying a can with a bigger hole is not fixing the problem, just covering it up. Diagnosing if the problem stems from the front of the shroud or rear is where it gets tricky. Your motivation should be a 25cal Sumo will always be more quiet than a 30cal Sumo on a .25.

That is what I’ve always thought and know from traditional firearms+suppressors, that the smaller hole keeps the heat and gas in, and in the Moderator air/sound.

Kind of cool breakdown of sizes above bore size. Looks like the Daystate LDCs have a larger diameter for mass production. I’m going to check my alignment because this thread mentions that, and also switch ammo.

I talked to Donny via email and this is what he said. Between .177 and .25 he advises larger caliber size to avoid clipping. He said from .30 and above he gives it more “wiggle room” so a .50 cal can be a .50 cal without worry of clipping.



He also said the .45/.50 cal moderator can work with the smaller 1/2x20 end cap which has to also be purchased.
