DonnyFL Mod. for Avenger .25

Where to start…. My Avenger 25cal is now the quietest of my pcp’s and I do have the Donny FL extended adapter. I don’t own their moderator but I have many others that work well and have spent time and effort to make this rifle silent with some success. Keeping it short if I were starting over I would just buy their shroud thread adapter cap to allow the addition of the ldc of your choice. The disadvantage of the extended shroud thread adapter is the tube that slides over the muzzle. First it fits loose and ‘rattles’ against the muzzle exterior which can’t help accuracy. I overcame that by wrapping electrical tape at that contact point and it worked. Second the extender tube pretty much eliminates much of the sound reduction capabilities that the shroud provides and prevents you from adding the splitter of your choice. Third there is some four inches of empty space from the muzzle to the shroud tip going to waste. I have added a splitter and a baffle stack in that space, cut the extender tube off so that could be done, and added a moderator. A hole can be drilled at the breech end of the shroud to release pressure and round wads can be cut from ‘Mr Clean’ cleaning pads and fitted and slid over the bbl inside the shroud up to the breech, I use four to kill any sound coming from there. I’m also experimenting with packing the shroud with 4 ought steel wool but truth be known it likely isn’t needed.

I put a Tanto on mine and it worked fine. I tested the gun at about 86db with it (100+ without it). I use an in shroud simple moderator now with some holes in the shroud to get it a little quieter than the Tanto, however. Plus no increase in length. But for a DonnyFL solution I would get the Tanto or another moderator of the same diameter so you can fill the gun without taking the moderator off. Or buy a right angle fill adapter.
