Was wondering about a Taipan Veteran in .177, do they even make them? Everything I see from them is .22 or .25. Available in the USA. Thanks.

I dropped a groundhog with my .177cal. Impact. Clean head shot from 35-40yds shooting JSB Exact Heavy 10.34 at 890fps. Don’t sleep on the .177. I have pictures in the hunting section but for some reason there not uploading right now. Anyway I’d love to have a Taipan Mutant or Veteran in .177cal.

No they don't offer a .177 as far as I know. There were a few floating around a year or so ago but they were not from the factory. Probably an easy swap though if you can get a .177 s200 barrel (or any .177 barrel I guess) machined to fit and have a new probe made. Obviously limited to single shot then.

I think Taipan would do well to start making a .177 bullpup. Edgun would too probably, wonder why they don't? Maybe because they look at them as hunting rifles only?

My caliber is bigger than yours! I love .177, it is my favorite. I would love to see the Taipan in .177.

I believe they have made some from factory but only in Europe I believe. Do wish they would especially with a CZ barrel. I know they have more things down the pipes in the future like possibly a .30 who knows a .177 would be a hot seller for sure though

No, I was hoping to get rid of some pesky sarcastic trolls. But I’m willing to bet most shooters here would be elated to routinely hit flies with a .177.

More game has fallen to my old .177 rifles than any of the .22’s, .25’s, or .30’s I’ve owned. I would looooooove a .177 veteran!!!

They make them, or at least made the Mutant in .177. Never been imported to the US but the FACTORY parts ,x5 or so, were obtained. I have one (converted). Started as a .22, swapped the parts... and have .177. Parts won't swap over to a Veteran as easily (mags and SS tray are diff).

Should add that I also added both a .177 cricket barrel to fit the original shroud and a S/CZ 200 barrel. Either shoots better than some of my rifles at 55y, the S200 barrel is full length so I can get 20fpe easily with the same accuracy. It's just not exactly a Mutant 'Shorty' anymore.

Awesome JCD, thanks. Maybe one day I will take you up on that. I don’t have the luxury of time these days, and I have never taken the plunge and taken a PCP apart. I’m really interested in a .177 soonish, and was hoping for a Taipan. I’m also looking at another brand, a mutant-cousin to the mutant, and may go that route, but I like the magazine on the Taipan better. I will start a thread on that one soon to see what info there’s out there on it.
*Soonish = 2 months to maybe 4. No hurry.

The parts are original/factory. And include - SS Tray, Mags, Probe, and the brass bushing(and oring) between the action and barrel. And of course you'll need a barrel.
Mine is not for sale but I'd be happy to help others achieve the same end product. Mags would be tougher but the barrel isn't really that expensive, the probe, barrel bushing and SS tray (given a .22 parts as a template) can be made by a machinist (which I am NOT)...
I'll be happy to measure and MAYBE to lend parts for duplication. Just keep in mind that mine is a Mutant, I have NO vetran to convert SS tray or Mag measurements too.
