I just picked up one in .22 and at the air gun range no not bad at all but in the backyard yes just a little bit to loud for me. I run my Sumo on it for the backyard.

This is very subjective, as it obviously depends on how quiet you need it. I have a standard power Red Wolf in .22, and I find it too loud for yard use without a silencer.

0dB gave me the best results....I tried all major brands and the 0dB helped keep the POI stable as well as really helped the accuracy.
