Does current FX Impact come with the Superior liner?

My FX Impact MK2 700mm 22cal is brand new. It was purchased from Airgun Depot in February 2021. The laser etching on the side says nothing about Superior. It just says Smooth Twist X.

Does it have the Superior liner? Or do I need to consider upgrading it with a Superior liner purchased as an accessory?

Purchasing it that recently, it should have the superior liner. I would doubt that the Impact could be old stock . All newly made Impacts since the Superior liner came out have had them. It doesn’t say on the outside anywhere. You would have to pull the liner and hope the sticker is still on it.

As far as whether you should consider upgrading (if it does not have the liner by some strange miracle), I would shoot it first before even considering swapping it.

Good ? just got a Dream Tact compact and was wondering if its ok to shoot slugs.

You don’t need a slug liner to shoot slugs accurately. A non-slug liner will usually prefer the lighter slugs if it likes them. Only way to know if it will shoot them well is to try them, and try them at many speeds. Often times, it is said that they prefer high speed, but I’ve seen some good shooting at lower speeds too.

Thanks Smok3y and SaltLake58. I had assumed it would come with the Superior liner but was surprised the laser etching on the side of the gun has not been revised to reflect this.

I'm new, but in my limited experience so far it's noticeably more accurate at 50 yards with 18.1 JSBs than it is with 25.39 JSB Knockouts. Testing with the factory tune gives speeds around 860 and energy of about 30 ft lbs with the 18.1 grain pellets. Energy remains at almost exactly 30 ft lbs with the slugs but speed has fallen to an average of 727 on the FX Radar.

People say slugs work well at nearly 1000 FPS, so despite the Superior liner, I have to choose whether to keep this amazingly accurate and efficent factory tune and be happy shooting pellets. My reg pressure, according to the gauge at least, is a mere 85 bar. The 480 cc bottle seems to go on forever. I'm not sure if I want to give that up just yet. We'll see.

Thanks again for helping the new guy.

While my current FX 22 is the Crown and not the Impact, they are similar. So I can try to help some. What hammer spring settings TE you currently using for 18gr?

My Crown is vastly superior shooting 18.1gr pellets at 50 vs knockouts when I have a tune set for pellets. My tune currently allows me to shoot 18gr on MIN where it likes around 880 and 25gr redesigneds around MAX at 930 where it likes. I couldn’t also find a place that it liked the Knockouts, but I have seen some amazing shooting on here by someone slinging them at only 805 FPS. On my current tune, I only found it likely Hybrids, but I have much more testing to try. I shoot 95% pellets, so there is no way I’m messing with my tune.
