Do You Shoot Airguns With Any Women?

When I shot HFT in Florida at the DeSoto Airgunners, Linda McGee was a serious competitor. Sometimes her granddaughter would shoot with us and she was pretty good too. Now, here in Wisconsin, a young lady shoots 100 yd BR with us and beats us all. My daughter has shot with me occasionally. She's good and has learned well from the old man.

My wife shoots spring guns. I tried to get her to shoot centerfire benchtest with me for the last 25 years. Nope, would not even try it. She has great attention to detail, no doubt she would excel. Last year when I bought the first D75 I talked her into taking 1 shot. After about 20 shots she looked at me and said, you need to get one of these for you. I talked her into shooting one of our matches. At that match Al Duster who about 6 weeks ago broke the world Springer USARB record and myself tied for second, my wife won. If you shoot her for your lunch money you best bring a sandwich with you. You never know. Oh, she is 69 and never shot anything but a handgun, and very little of that.

The only time I shoot airguns with other people is in competition. The wife of one our RC club members is Olympic class. At the CMP matches there are quite a few women competing in rifle and pistol. They put in the work and the worst of the bunch is damn good.

I very seldom see a women other than a first timer who is not competitive. Benchrest is all about attention to detail and a good memory .

In almost ten years my wife never came with me to the gun club not even as a tourist.
But she gravel biked with me ones - or twice - I guess, if my memory serves me well. I even wanted to buy her a new performance bike and she refused. And I wanted to buy her a snowblower, she refused again.
She is a gym workout girl @ 60 and shee is cooking for me since mid 80's.
Can't complain

My buddy has my (our) maverick .30 sniper shooting NSA 54.5's at his cabin. His wife, daughter, and grand-daughter showed up and shot the mav. They loved it. They expected a big BANG and were prepared for monster recoil. They were so surprised when all the mav did was go "clank" while putting out 98fpe.
