Just bought a new 580cc carbon fiber bottle and valve assembly for my Impact M3. Do I need to apply thread locker/loctite to the threads when installing the valve?

NO! The seal from the bottle to the valve is based on the seated o-ring. Make sure it is lubricated with some silicone grease, and it only needs to be snug, not tightened with a wrench.

The normal pressure ranges that the bottle is at will make it seem like you used red thread locker.

FX adds a drop of red loctite to their bottles at the factory, but like others in this thread I have added a bottle valve without it and it was fine.

I wish it was just a drop...had been more like a giant glob in my experience. One of mine had so much on it, it ran into the actual valve itself...that was fun to clean.
But like others said, it's not necessary as the air pressure should hold tight on the threads. I usually put a drop of blue on just for peace of mind.

I have tried to unscrew the bottle "valve" on the original AGT vulcan 3 bottle, that one are not going loose just using a set of big pliers.
Need to get the original stuff out so i can put a FX valve in the bottle ( assuming the raw bottle are M18 like FX )

I have inspected literally thousands of scuba tanks and valves. There has never been so much as a drop of loctite dispensed on threads. Actually a dab of silicone grease was applied to prevent galvanic corrosion.
