Do Other Impacts Work Like Mine/

I put quite a few rounds through the gun and it started to shoot all over the place. Previously I was benching nickel size groups at 50 yds. I read on here when it starts shooting erratically to clean the barrel. I did! And it came right back to being accurate again,. However after less than 500 shots it again was hitting all over the place with no consistency. I again cleaned the barrel. It wasn't really dirty like the first time but that cleaining seemed to have cured the erratic accuracy issue.

I am wondering what other Impact shooters have discovered. Mine is a .25 and am shooting the old stand by JSBs, Maybe I am just going to have to clean the gun more often than I thought after reading the experiences and advice here on the forum. "Don't clean it unless it's not shooting correctly."

I clean the pellets I run through my Impact and clean the barrel every now and then, when I think of it.

I inspect pellets for dings, then wash them in Dawn.

Check the o-rings also. Maybe when you cleaned it the o-rings sealed because of the solvents. Check the barrel screw, and if the barrel is sitting in the indentation properly. Check the pellet probe travel and make sure its secure. Look inside the barrel.

STX barrels require cleaning much more frequently the the original ST barrels. I do a quick pull thru after every tin.

Mine, ST barrel .25 does the same thing. Seems like It started that when I changed to a different batch of pellets. I have a few more tins of those to go through. I’m seeing the same thing from my .25 Condor using the same pellets. Maybe I should wash them and see what happens.

What do you use to clean? I'm using Mr. Cyclops modified bore snake without anything on it. Do you use any solvents on the quick cleans?

Yes, pull a patch, both sides through after every tin of pellets and you wont have to worry about the accuracy falling off. 

Best to do this especially if you hunt.

Hi Jim81, you have exactly same issue than my previous MK I Wildcat had and it is really easy to fix.

You need to polish short ST section at the end of the barrel. It is only approx. 5cm ~ 2inch long. Use JB bore finishing compound (or some similar polishing compound) and short cleaning rod with felt plug. I have done it from the muzzle end but you need to be extra careful not to scratch barrel crown!! This is really important.

Front-back movement something like 200times and it should be fine. Some times I have used rotating motion at first (hand drill etc.) and only finalizing by hand at the end.

After polising the ST section all my FX guns have been like a laser and need to be cleaned only after thousands of pellets fired.
