There also is a video on youtube with a guy trying to change the lens in the OA, he pretty much have to take it all apart, and then he chicken out and put it back together.
It could be other scope camera systems have a build in corrective lens,,,,, i suppose you could do that just like attaching a lens to a action camera lens to get macro filming.
Just i have not seen / noticed that, but then again i have not looked much into conventional setups, i would prefer to have a dedicated scope that can do both day and night, and record it.
I do have a DIY project lined up with a dashcam where i want to use the one lens to see thru with my DIY night vision goggle, and then have the other on the scope, so i can switch back and forth between the 2 lenses depending on what i need.
But to pull this off i need someone to modify the firmware so the camera record in B&W just like CCTV cameras do at night when aided by IR light, and then i need to procure a couple of lenses too without IR cut filters.
Thats still just 1080p / 30 FPS, but i figure night vision goggle ( a cheap set of FPV goggles from hobbyking ) and the camera on the gun would be a fun experiment,,,,, also i need to get a new dascam first as this project is going to be made with what have been my primary camera in the car for well over a year.
If the firmware dont get modified then the footage get a horrible magenta hue,,,,, been there done that.
Tis is recorded with a modified ( IR cut filter removed Toshiba camcoder on the scope )

It is paramount to use sensors with good IR / NIR abilities, and sensitive as all that glass in scope + lens block out a helluva lot of light, those old videos above, that was all bad or mediocre sensors, much better available today so you do not need a 10 W IR light.
As you can see by UL dates,,,, i been playing around for a while.
